Dana's anger is gonna hurt UFC business.

Regardless of who is getting the blame for 151 being cancelled, Dana shouldn't blast Jones like that publicly. He should've discussed it with Jones FIRST not Chael. Therefore no one would know. Now that everyone knows, Jones has lost a ton of fans & as long as Jones holds the title, the UFC isn't gonna make as much money off of LHW title fights unless they put someone in there that poses a real threat to Jones so the fans that want to see him get beat will pay for it. I think that wasn't the smartest BUSINESS decision from Dana. Offer the fight to the champ. If he declines the other guy wouldn't know it then & neither would we. But Dana blasts him & now fans don't like him & fighters will decline to fight on cards that he headlines. He might have to make the LHW title fights the co main now.

I didn't read it all but I agree, I think Dana got hot headed like he does often and made poor decisions (blasting jones) canceling the event

I'd be pissed to if someone who said they will never turn down a fight turned down a fight and ended up ruining the event

And that is understandable. But tell that to Jones & only Jones. Remember, this thread is simply about the profits off of LHW title fights now.

i agree and disagree with you.

i agree that it should of been disgussed behind closed doors FIRST and humiliating your fighters and belittling the camps that are required for these guys to train at, is a stupid idea and just makes the president look bad or good depending on what side your on.

A coaches job is to make your fighter a winner. Not an excitement WWE fighter, but a winner, thats all Jacksons job is nothing mmore nothing less. Jones went to Greg for a advice. Greg said he probably shouldnt do it, that should of been discussed with Dana white in full before having a radio conference.

i disagree however on Jones's excuse in pulling out of the fight on 8 days notice. His excuse was he wants to fight at 100% or whatever. but the thing is, hasnt he been training for a wrestler for the last 6 months or however long hes been training for? so his excuse to me holds no ground and he didnt need to cancel the fight. He should of been ready for henderson and easily been able to switch to Chael on a few days notice.

I think UFC needs to start having a plan B for its main card to.

Jones ducking is hurting the business ..

You have a right to that opinion but that is not what this thread is about. What if Dana would've offered it & Jones refused & no one knew about it including Chael & he announced that the card was cancelled due to Henderson getting hurt & Machida couldn't make it and that's all everyone knew? What would everyone be saying then? Everyone would be saying UFC should've had a better card. All I am saying is Dana is gonna have a hard time selling LHW title fights now.

Do you really think canceling the event was left up to Dana, lol? I mean if nothing else, I can guarantee you it wasn't his decision alone.

could be BS but Chael is a lefty & he trained for a righty. But it still may bs & done just to piss off Chael.

Kind of yeah, the UFC brass made the decision that instead of salvaging what they had, put all their eggs in one basket here, if this card had a decent supporting cast for example if this were a card where rashad Evans vs shogun was the co main, and jones pulled out, all would be fine, but it wasn't so blame Jon

UFC will still make just as much money off of Jones fights if not more.

On the contrary' date=' other than the sharp words he had for Jackson needing a psychiatrist, I thought his anger was quite controlled during that conference.[/quote']

I'm not saying he lost his temper. I am just saying he shouldn't let Jones take the blame for something that is PART their own fault on a matter that should've been discussed with the CHAMP not Chael.

I agree 100%. People get blinded by Jones hate which is their perogative, but when it comes down to business, it was a bad move. Of course the UFC will be fine financially, but it definitely wasn't a wise business decision.

yeah like I said if they put him against someone that poses a threat to him that will make haters want to see him get beat. For instance... would you pay to see him fight Shamrock in a title fight? Most haters wouldn't. Would they pay to see him fight someone that could possibly beat him just to see him get beat? yes
