I live way inland now. Should be all good. Tornados is the only thing that worries me and that can happen with a bad storm anywhere.

Tornado's are bad enough. I feel for the people that will be hit by this thing, glad I live in the UK.

The storm is a category "fail"

I'm visiting family on the gulf coast of Florida, literally on the water, its barely rained twice today..... Media hype galore!!!

My son and I did get some decent surf this morning in Anna Maria island, clean groundswell in the waist to chest range..... Which is overhead to him.

Don't believe the hype

See that argument is completely flawed man.

#1 Do you really think your "tax" dollars are yours to begin with. Well they're aren't. You have zero say what they go to. You could just as easily complain about about the welfare system and a thousand other things but it's a rediculous argument to begin with. Just consider it the cost of living here, the roads you travel, the police etc.

#2 Try getting gas prices down if no one lives anywhere near the gulf of coast.

#3 The whole east coast up to maine and the whole gulf is vulnerable to hurricanes. Should we just abanden all coastal regions in those areas? This would be madness. What about the midwest with tornado alley or flooding, the southwest with wildfires, or how about california it's due for a major earthquake sometime soon just like the gulf was due for it's 50-100 yr big disaster. Every place in the country is vulnerable to something.

#4 I got screwed by Katrina not by the storm itself but with new gov guidelines recommmended by FEMA and the BS that followed. I payed my taxes, my insurance and my house only got cosmetic damage that could have been fixed but because of silly new regulations in the aftermath to get permits i was forced to lift it ( even though i only had minor flooding ) and instead i had to tear it down at my own expense.

So yeah it pisses me off when people say people i was bailed me out and i should live somewhere else because it's safer. If the gov would have stayed out of my business in the first place and i didn't file for permits and just fixed it myself i'd still be living in NewOrleans just fine.

Dont worry, us people living in high risk living areas will continue to import your oil and gas to you because you're too big of ******* to do it yourselves.

BTW, its missing us Brad. I was in a coast guard inspection today and asked if they had any further warnings besides their initial send out. Barring some crazy, incredibly improbable weather changes, we are in the clear.

here's a protip:

don't invest in property below sea level.

Here's a protip: Don't live in the southwest because wildfires happen there. Don't live on the west coast because of earthquakes, don't live in the midwest because of floods and tornados, don't live near the gulf because of hurricanes......and so on

Yea welfare should get the shaft too. Its annoying when people go right to roads and police. Its like the illegal immigrant activists yelling oh they pick lettuce. No its far beyond that. You can keep the police and road taxation on the local level. Then you can decide if you are getting your moneys worth. **** Federal Income Tax. Do yall not understand its legal theft. They are mother ****ing you everyday and you take it. You take it ****ing hard right to the ***. LIke wake the **** up. YOU are being robbed! Protect whats yours man damn.

Local taxation and insurance policies should protect them not me. The answer to the problem is not **** the guy in Nevada its **** the one living there. North Dakota is oil rich aint it? So because they pump oil outta the gulf i should just take it to the *** every paycheck right? So you can live on a GOD FORSAKEN hurricane death trap? How many more hurricanes and how many more rebuilds should i have to pay for? WHen the **** doesnt it become too much? Until I have no more money?

Why would it be madness? Because you decided it would be? Once again why should i insure your beach life? Theres not enough land inland to live on?

And that said location should insure itself. WHY THE **** DO I LIVE IN 110 DEGREE HEAT AND YOU GET THE BEACH AND WHEN YOUR **** GETS ****ED MY MONEY GETS STOLEN? HUH?!

My argument is against FEMA. Not you Gary Busey. Everybody at there own risk can choose their living conditions. Its a joke that i should have to insure you.

To note. 4.2 billion was privately invested into Katrina. FEMA is another govt *** suck that ****s the hard working man.

I guess the 5x500,000 barrel pump station in Nederland, Texas is for show right? Since I'm quite sure you don't even know what that means, that's a refinery that processes over 105,000,000 gallons of crude oil a week is for show right? Or the 2nd largest oil reserve in the US being in Freeport, Texas was all poor planning by idiots who invested in coastal property, huh?
