Will there be a point where there are no American Champs?

I don't think so. Jones won't lose for a while although I hope he does.

There will be a flyweight champ soon.

Chances are Silva will retire soon and Weidman will probably step up.

Cain could stop JDS also if he take the same approach as he did it the bigfoot fight.

Cover your eyes fobar!

It wouldn't surprise me, but in America's defense, most of our super athletic individuals go into NFL, NBA, MLB etc. When is the last time you saw a Brazilian Kobe Bryant, or Tom Brady? If the UFC ever starts to pay big, I think it's possible that you will see more elite tier fighters from America, but until then I wouldn't hold my breath.

Any chance of that happening in the next year or two? Nothing against Americans' date=' just wondering..

If Barao beats Cruz

Belfort beats Bones

..I guess that just leaves 155..

Any chance?[/quote']

There's a chance for anything, but in an American dominated sport, I doubt this.

Americans outnumber Brazillians by 3 to 1, and then every other nationality is even lesser than that.

There are 188 American fighters in the UFC, and 166 of every other nationality in the UFC.

I supremely doubt it.

Not likely, one the biggest populations, huge ROID factory, wrestling roids is huge in USA and Television is a huge media outlet, although maybe tough to get past the Obama propaganda.

Pretty soon American fighters will have to stop fights because their micro chips fell out.Actually how can we have fights in USA with all that Terrorism interfering?

Well Basketball isn't really that big a sport in Brazil and your kind of football (mostly played with the hands btw) is pretty much a non-sport outside the US. In Brazil they play Soccer, Volleyball or fight, that's pretty much it...;)

And before anyone starts bashing, I like American Football, I follow it pretty well (Go Packers...) but it's really not a big sport...

Great soccerplayers though are 13 on the dozen in Brazil and they have mad skills. Watch Neymar if you have any interest in soccer. That's poetry by feet...

There has only been two european champs, as far as I know. Bas and Arlovski. Has there been someone else?

The Americas pretty much owns UFC-championships, for now... ;)

Henderson's father was American and he was born in Colorado Springs. Let's try to avoid making up information as we go.

Maybe at some pint, long into the future.

Silva's days are numbered.

The HW belt is always a wildcard because of hw big and powerful the fighters are. Don't expect anyone to be champ for long.

155 will is pretty solidly american for probably years to come.

GSP is still reasonably young but a bad injury for longevity. List below him is mostly americans.

Joseph Benevidaz is American (Soon to be FLW champ)

Dominick Cruz is American (BW champ)

Benson Henderson is American (LW Champ)

Carlos Condit is American (Interim WW champ and future undisputed WW champ)

Jon Jones is American (LHW Champ)

FW Brazil

WW Canada

MW Brazil

HW Brazil

its not that big of a deal. UFC is just now breaking the waters with Brazil so a lot of Brazilians are going to be coming into the sport

China, Japan, Korea, India all of these asian countries expect to see more competition coming from there in the future. Australia as well with TUF UK Vs Australia.

Fair fair, but even though Americans vastly outnumber Brazilians in the UFC, there are just as many Brazilian champs as American. So p4p.... Brazil! :P

I honestly don't think Athleticism is a huge part of it. Fedor, possibly the greatest of all time wasn't very athletic. Anderson Silva has a much more lean than athletic build.
