Tank Abbott, Dan Severn, Royce Gracie... Vitor Belfort

Recommended Posts

"How many guys (are left) from my generation?" he asked. "I come from the generation of Tank Abbott, Dan Severn, Mark Coleman, Royce Gracie – that generation. How many guys from my generation are still [competitive] that way?" -Link

Can you guys believe Vitor is still fighting? And not just fighting, but fighting for UFC gold. In a month he'll have fought the two p4p greatest fighters to ever strap on mma gloves, all within the past two years. Where has the time gone?

He made his UFC debut in 1997. 1997!! That's 15 years ago! And he's still at the top! It's unbelievable if you think about it.

He's fought the who's who of mma throughout his career. Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, Allistor Overeem, Anderson Silva, Rich Franklin, Wanderlei Silva, Sakaraba, Matt Lindland, and soon Jon Jones.

Can we give it up for this old timer, for this living legend, for all the fighters who made the UFC what it is today! We salute you, Vitor Belfort!

PEDs played a part' date=' as they did with Couture and Henderson, but still deserves respect.[/quote']

This is true, but it was a dif time then. If you sampled 100 of the fighters from back then I'm sure 75% of them would have been on something.

It is legal in MMA' date=' unfortunately.

You don't see other athletes claiming to need TRT [/quote']

I say sort of because they still can't go over a certain limit... but I'm sure that doesn't stop them, and when it comes time to be tested they taper off it :(
