ajbKiLLA33
On the TV Commercials for UFC 152 they call Vitor the former LHW and HW champion but truth is he only one the LHW title (ufc 46 by cut vs Randy Couture) and the HW championship they are referring to was a UFC 12 tournment championship. So why do they refer to Vitor as a HW champ after winning a tournment and not Dan Henderon who won the Middleweight tournment championship at UFC 17. Dana White said him himself the only thing keeping Dan Henderson from being the greatest of ALL time is a UFC championship...but Vitor wins a tournment championship and gets credit for it. Nyte
I was actually wondering about this too. He was the Light Heavy weight champ at one point when he beat Couture. He was just the Heavyweight tournament winner, not actually the champion so I think that is where the confusion is at.

Melvinj0
Im assuming they were referring to him winning the HW tournament. Either way, jones is going to get Vitorn apart.

You are absolutely correct sir that was a UFC I had to watch on VHS tape, but he did in fact beat Carlos Newton by split decision(should have been unanimous) and was awarded the same title as Belfort. It should be noted on fight cards the same way they do to build up interest in Vitor. I guess they just don't have to with Henderson because of his Pride accolades and the fact that just about every American fight fan not only knows who he is, but they love guy. He is the definition of tough, but that does not take away the fact he should be given full credit for his accomplishment, anyone else would piss and moan, but that is not his nature. Another reason you gotta love Hendo
Bezerker101
The UFC is taking promotional liberties, Belfort is not listed as a hw champion on any stat page, technically he was the hw tournament "champion" at Judgement Day -
