"It's all I keep hearing about. He needs to stop trying to shove that bullsh-- down our throats. I honestly don't give a [expletive] if he was a Marine or not, how does that affect me? He definitely isn't getting any special treatment from me. I'm going to embarrass him in front of all his punk Marine friends. I guarantee I will have him wishing he was back in Baghdad or wherever the hell he was stationed in when I get my hands on him. I'll show him hell in those 15 minutes."

I agree with Bisping I'm tired of hearing Stann's Marine bull ****

its like he was the saviour of the Iraqi war by himself or something. They have pushed his marine thing a little to far. Its constantly like watching a The Pacific Tv series preview over and over and over and over..and personally the friggin marines shouldnt of even been in IRAQ until absolutely necessary in the first place.

Not sure why everyone hates on Stann about the Marine thing. He doesn't ever bring it up. Also' date=' it's not surprising they push the former marine angle consider the United States Marine Corp is and has been a major sponsor of the UFC for years.[/quote']

... they're indoctrinated progressive liberals (brainwashed democrats)

Agree, it's not really stanns fault the ufc wants to market him that way. But it is annoying as hell, especially for someone like me thats not from the US.

If it wasn't for that bs Stann said about Monson he would seem like a genuinely great guy.

Funny how the UFC always brings up the "brash, trash talking Brit", but Stann had his beef with Monson, just another example of the UFC lying to you. How do you really know what Stann did in the Marines? You don't. He could tell you anything and you'd believe it. If not for the spin they put on him for being an "American Hero" would he even be in the UFC?

Well the closest you will get to knowing without being there is to get his service record thru the freedom of information act and/or ask people who were in his unit.

Both of which I'm sure some journo has done already.

Things are manipulated all the time with military service. They openly admit to using him as a recruiting tool, which a guarantee that something will have been manipulated. What about the other marines that were there? Why does nobody talk about them? Are they not as important? From what I gather, Stann spent a lot of time on the phone while his comrades fought

If by phone you mean "radio" then yea I'm sure he was. Coordinating all of his elements, CAS and sending sit reps to higher headquarters is the job of a platoon leader after all.

You guys need to just lay off the dude's military service. It's never his fans bringing it up, only his haters and what is ironic is that they bring it up only to ***** that they are sick of hearing about it.

I'm by no means saying that his military service is fake or anything like that, but what he in particular did has been bigged up, and it seems to me disrespectful of everyone else who was there, there were another 41 marines with him, all equally as important

He should just not talk about it. If he doesn't want to talk about it to the media, at pressers, specify that he won't take questions on it, and people will be less interested as it becomes less mentioned

He has said he doesn't want to talk about it. Also, he was an officer so without a doubt whatever he did to earn that silver star was a lot less than what an enlisted man would have done to earn the same award. That is the nature of the military, officers love to give each other medals and downgrade recommendations for enlisted men. I'm not denying it and I've witnessed it in person

. In the U.S Army, anyone over the rank of E-7 automatically gets a bronze star just for deploying.

I don't know what Stann did because I wasn't there. I also know it was less than the equivelant of what a PFC would do to get a silver star. But then again, Stann never brings it up and he gets a lot of hate from fans for it and it is a BS thing to hate on him for.

Stann wished that, yet on the countdown show spent half the time talking about that and the other half on his brother in law committing suicide

Stann can't help how the UFC wants to portray him I have seen him routinely not answer questions at press conferences saying he doesn't want to talk about his military background anymore.

I'm pretty sick of Stann talking about his military stuff also, but in reality, isn't it more the reporters faults for brining up questions based on it? I read an interveiw somewhere that he was saying he preffered not to talk about it, and most of the time, it was reporters brining it up...either way, I think Bisping wins via UD

I hope Stann knocks Bispings head off. What a pos.

I agree with this. How disrespectful could you be. Of course he talks about it all the time. But on all the countdown shows and interviews he does, he is told to talk about it. He keeps saying he doesn't want people to bring it up. And to say that he will wish he back in Baghdad is just stupid. At the very most Bisping will win a UD. And I guarantee Stann would rather get beat up a little bit then have to worry about whether or not he's going to make it home alive. One of the most disrespectful things I've ever heard a fighter say.
