Brady969
Win or lose if you were Dana, would you force Jones to fight Chael next? If for nothing, just to send a message?

megaman
He can't force JBJ to do anything. Besides, JBJ would beat the crap out of Sonnen he just didn't want to fight him at 151 out of spite.

Of course he doesn't have to fight Sonnen but a message can still be sent to other fighters.
Enigma_Machine
TBH, I think fighting sonnen would be a reward for Jones, Sonnen is a good matchup for Jones to get a win. I'd want Jones to fight a top 10 heavyweight. Mir or Carwin.
shinyaaoki
he's already forced GSP into fighting Anderson the Big Cheat Silva. So anything is possible.

I hear so many people making these comparisons, if you have a job where your boss can just come in and make you scrub toilets or whatever, I think it's safe to assume you're not making JBJ type money. The guy is the first MMA fighter to be sponsered by Nike globally (Anderson has also been promoted, but that was after Jones), do you really think Dana will fire one of his top three biggest draws and one of the most talked about fighters ever in the history of the sport just beacuse Jones won't take a fight against an undeserving, unproven MW? Of course not, beacuse anybody that makes as much money as he does for himself and the company is valuable.

Sonnen doesn't even have a puncher's chance. He couldn't take Jones down and he doesn't have KO power.
ParaffinAlien
What point is it exactly that you think this would prove? Is Dana White a UFC god that can somehow force fans to even want to see this fight? The only point that such a move would prove is that Dana White has taken leave of his senses completely and decided that his own personal ego is far more important then the sport of MMA and the future of UFC as a buisness. MMAJess
he's already forced GSP into fighting Anderson the Big Cheat Silva. So anything is possible. Really? He did? Wow, you'd think we'd remember a fight that big, What? It never happened? And it's probably never gonna happen? Yeah, that's what I thought. Dana didn't force him to do anything. Seriously though, imagine a superfight cross-promotion with Silva-GSP and Mayweather-Pacquiao. Call the card 'Never Say Never' or something else a bit more clever. I disagree. Look what happened to boxing. The promoters and the boxers are now calling the shots. Dana is The UFC. He needs to maintain control and he needs his fighters in line. The UFC is a w**** house. The fighters are the w****s and Dana is the pimp....like it or not if a w**** gets out of line...you slap the w****. Jones was acting like a little w****. He needs a slap. bigant05
I doubt it just because thats not the most intresting matchup for jones after he destroys belfort. Chael is just a fighter who learned his mouth puts up better fights then his hands. I think everyone should have found out hes not worth the hype after loosing to silva twice. the first one was boring and all he really did was rest on top of silva's chest before making excuses on why he didnt "pull the trigger" on silva when he supposedly had the chance. People always want to see a champ dethroned but its gonna take a better competitor then sonnen to do so!!!
