RangaHang
**** this im raging hard right now my favorite fighter is going to stand there doing nothing and pulling guard and crap which caused him to lose ultimately
carnages
He is used to fighting when there are no elbows He didn't expect jones to fight cheap and throw ONLY elbows, if Jones threw punches Vitor would of subbed him easily
Thisiswar
**** this im raging hard right now my favorite fighter is going to stand there doing nothing and pulling guard and crap which caused him to lose ultimately He pulled guard because he was hurt and with the success he had in the first round (almost winning the fight) I think it gave him a lot of confidence. RangaHang
rushing him would've gave him better chance bro seriously rushing>pulling guard
ZenWarrior1406052210
all of you are wrong. Vitor pulled guard because in the Blackzillians there is a coach, Mario Sperry, who even in the open workouts was just training Vitor to do BJJ. Period. Blackzillians are the sorriest team out there. NickTF
Unless there really was an injury in training preventing him from being explosive (aside from the used energy on the attempted submission) it was a terrible game plan. You are not going to win with Jones anywhere other than right in his face especially with finishing ability like Vitor has. So what if it is low percentage better percentage than what he attempted. ThePack19
To defeat Silva one must take him down with relentless ground and pound mixed with sub attempts.....Weidman To defeat Jones one must get in his face and throw wild haymakers and dirty box against the cage.......Uummm....anyone? DoomPatrol
I was shouting "WTF" throughout the fight. The man with "the fastest hands in MMA" fights the man with the deadliest ground and pound and doesn?t strike but keeps pulling guard until he finally manages to lose. I would?ve been fine if Jones just took him down and pounded him right there and then, but not with this ****. First Shogun did the same **** and now Vitor. That story about the braineating worms must be true... Afterwards I found out Vitor?s hand was broken, so that explains it mostly. I still think he should?ve just ignored it like Franklin would?ve done. At some point Jones was standing in front of him with his back towards him and Vitor did nothing... Is it too much to ask for a clear-cut fights with no controversy?

I dunno about wild haymakers so much as very powerful and accurate strikes. Jones uses his reach to avoid getting hit, not movement or effective blocking. machida & vitor have both shown they could penetrate both. we'll likely see machida defeat henderson - and machida is hungry for a rematch. interbizman
its real simple......Belfort..along with a huge number of our UFC heros are being replaced and outclassed by an entire new generation of more evolved and better fighters. The list is long....gRIFFON, bELFORT...RUA, all that generation of fighters are slowy ly making there way to the wayside...

Yup, I commend all fighters for having skill, but when is one of them going to deliver with a gameplan of landing shots first. I feel like a tuf coach yelling at the tv, cause you know as soon as they wait to counter the fight is over. Jones should be sorry it took him as long as it did, cause vitor was just like the pads he hits in practice.
MetatronBJJ
Vitor had the perfect game plan. Get a white belt level Jiu Jitsu guy on the ground with a black belt. He hit an arm bar in the first round and was confident he could submit Jones ala Silva/Sonnen 1. If he played the stand up game with Jones, we would have gotten smacked around via Jones reach. Coreyflipp
He had the same gameplan against Silva, only Silva got bored with it real quick. Also it's easy to outclass someone when you're one to two weightclasses above them with 12" reach advantage. Did you see how far Jones was away from Vitor when he was throwing those gay little sidekicks to the knee? Vitors gameplan should have been to rush in, throw flurries, and rush back out. The one time Vitor would actually do that he clinched with Jones instead of rushing back out and he wound up on the ground with Jones on top. Even Rogan was like why the **** did he do that?
