Sisti
After watching that performance it just doesn't seem to me that Stann will ever make a serious run at the title. He just didn't seem to have the passion when he needed it to pull the victory out. Great fighter, but somehow I just don't see him ever making a serious run at the belt

Great fighter' date=' but somehow I just don't see him ever making a serious run at the belt[/quote'] There is always a chance in MMA. I believe Stann could be champ if their was an apocolyptic event that saw the deaths of 99.9% of the worlds population... Short of that I don't think that Brian 'just shoot and i'll go down' Stann has much of a chance.
Yesterdays_Hero
He would be too strong for Jones, probably KO in the 2nd or 3rd round

I will ALWAYS pull for Brian Stann no matter who he fights but his next two or three fights have to be beyond impressive. He's needs to get 100x better fighting off his back and not gas like he looked like he did lastnight.

He's 31 so he still has some quality fights left. He was a champ back in 2008 in WEC and I think if he develops his game in the right direction and some things go his way, he could very well be a champ again. Enigma_Machine
Just because he lost to such a world class fighter in Bisping doesn't mean he sucks. He still has time to improve and considering the kind of power he's got he still has a lot of potential.
DL4TRU_STRENGTH
Stann himself said it best - hes progressing and he feels like hes able to hang in there and get back into title contention. Bisping's stock went up in my book yesterday for two reasons: he showed genuine respect for his opponent and he didnt fight like a chump (as I feel he often has previously) Bisping looks like hes getting better, but I honestly think his potential is more limited than Stanns. I foresee Bisping losing against Anderson. Stanns only obstacle to becoming the #2 or #3 in the MW div is his grappling - if he learns how to handle himself in that area he will soon dominate. JBJ tooled Shogun who in turn tooled Machida - and machida did better against JBJ than shogun. Its the nature of the sport, they all have good/bad days, and more often than not its a matter of style match up than talent alone.

Wirerat
I dunno, 3 or 4 years ago I would have told you I can't stand Bisping, and he'll never get within range of a title shot ever, and in my opinion he deserves a shot, and has shown lots of improvement over the last couple of years, and kind of grown on me as a personality. Stann could, he just needs to do some work to get it done.
