ipso_facto
Most would probably say that Fabio Maldonado showed great heart. Yes he did, but referees are there to protect fighters from receiving excessive damage like that. Mario Yamasaki did NOT. There were several points in that fight where it clearly could have (and should have) been stopped. Yamasaki instead allowed the barbaric onslaught to continue. This coming from the same ref that disqualified Eric Silva for tapping the side of Carlo Prater's head with a handful of weak hammer fists that were actually completely legal. Am I missing something here? I realize that referee's are only human (capable of error), but there is still so much inconsistency with the refereeing. What was allowed to continue last night was a ****ing disgrace.
JosephPBlow
Agreed. But I gotta admit, I was on my feet rooting for that scrappy bastard (Maldonado) to somehow land another shot at put Glover away. I just love when these one sided ridiculous match ups doesn't go the way the UFC wanted it to. Maldonado is one helluva tough sob.
megaman
You kind of answered your own question in the last paragraph of your post, lol. I felt that it was all good Maldonado was always there, he never looked really out of it tbh.
UDONNO
I agree that the fight should have been stopped!! He took way too much damaged, and at a few points he could not stand. I would not be surprised if he suffered a subdural hematoma..

ipso_facto
fight should of never been stopped Fabio was coming back OF COURSE most fighters are going to try and keep going, but ref's are there to not only protect fighters from their opponent...but also to protect fighter's from themselves. Fabio could have received permanent brain damage, or even been killed. Any fight fan that would condone this is not a fight fan...just someone looking to see a freak show. Apparently you are illiterate. There's a big difference between "doing ok"...and that of mindlessly lunging at an opponent out of self preservation of perhaps being killed. boon1406052403
Should of been stopped when he was struggling to stand against the cage, was in the first round i think, after he recovered from the mount/beating.
