Has anyone read up on or had any experience with black liberation theology?

I'm doing a brief report/lesson on black liberation theology for my mens group at church, and I have found that its history and teachings seem to be very interpretive depending on which source you use. I would imagine, like almost any other religion/denomination, much of it depends on the people who practice it and by what standards they approach it.

 

So far its rather clear that its roots are very politically motivated as it is influenced by Marxism. Anyhow, just thought if anyone has something of value to offer it might be helpful for perspective. If not, no biggie.
