"invincible" fighters

MMA has had a series of guys who have seemed "invincible." However, no one's run has lasted very long and eventually a newer, more well-rounded guy comes along and proves they are better than the last guy

Here's the list of who has seemed like the invincible guy in the UFC

Royce Gracie

Tank Abbott

Vitor Belfort

Randy Couture

Phil Baroni (yes, for a time)

Brandon Vera

Tito Ortiz

Chuck Liddell

Matt Hughes

GSP

Anderson Silva

Jon Jones

tank seems like a strange choice

i dont think anyone expected a has been shobum to turn himself around and come into that title fight on top form like he did. He put a stop to the machida era which would of been stopped eventually by john jones anyway.

If glover beats rampage or whoever he fights next i expect him to be added to that list.

I'm a big Couture fan, but I don't think he was ever considered "invincible"...

Phil Baroni still has the greatest highlight KO of all time

he lands like 1 million unanswered punches to the guys head against the cage, the guy falls Baroni jumps on cage and screams hes the "Best Eva" and he's so muscular

6+ years undefeated in the UFC isn't very long?

Tank and Baroni had up and down careers all the way through, I don't see how either of them ever looked invincible.

Tank was never able to build any good winning streaks so i doubt anyone thought him unbeatable...

Vera was a "contender" but nobody thought him invisible...

Randy was also never considered unbeatable.. He was just a good fighter..

When Tito got "to the top" he refused to fight the best oponents (for example Chuck). SO those who was really into MMA never considered him unbeatable

BUT

Machida was unbeatable for a long time

Brock (after he learned leg lock defence) was considered unbeatable

Carwin was unbeatable

PJ Penn was unbeatable (at LW)

Wanderlei Silva was unbeatable (in Pride)
