As usual, Mr Sowell sums it up nicely. I'm not gonna post any snippets of the article - as the I dont want to provide any bait for the trolls, and would rather have thoughtful replies from those who actually bother to read and then form their opinion. (its a rather quick read, so laziness is no excuse)

Mostly' date=' but not completely. Nothing I ever post on here is completely serious.[/quote']

No, you have your serious moments, just like I have my light hearted ones

This is funny because the writer seems to be attacking Liberals by complaining about congress. Which is held by a Republican majority...

Did you happen to miss where he called out the GOP for running out of white flags?

You must be a lawyer. If not' date=' you should be. You argue with everything. :D

inb4argumentativereply :P

Seriously though, Merry Christmas![/quote']

lol everything is open for debate indeed

Nope' date=' I sure didn't. Thanks for wasting my time with a pointless whining article though.[/quote']

Then feel free to leave, as I have zero desire to hold your hand through such simple concepts.

fav portion of the article -

Everybody is talking about how we are going to pay for the huge national debt, but nobody seems to be talking about the runaway spending which created that record-breaking debt. In other words, the big spenders get political benefits from handing out goodies, while those who resist giving them more money to spend will be blamed for sending the country off the "fiscal cliff."

spot-on!

If we can agree that over spending is not a partisan issue, but a "entire government of the last 50+ years" issue then I suppose I would agree.

Youll get no argument from me on that - but his point is that nobody (particularly the media & the democrats) is talking about meaningful spending cuts which is the real central issue - as theyre trying to put the onus & blame on the GOP,

And you feel the need to state the obvious why exactly?

Yeah, that works both ways.

Example: When Republicans controll the Senate and Congress and the president is Democrat, everything screwed up that gets through is the fault of the president according to Republicans.

When Democrats control everything except the Presidency, and something screwed up goes through, the Libs throw blame at the president.

When something goes right it's "Only because our side controls the house or Senate.".

When nothing is happening, both sides point fingers at each other and blame everyone but themselves for being a buncha do nothings.

According to Liberals, when Clinton was President, he did everything 100% correct and was the model of perfection, despite the fact that most everything done was through a Republican controlled house.

According to Liberals, everything Bush done was terrible and he was the worst thing to happen to any country since Hitler, despite there being a Democrat controlled house AND Senate.

According to Liberals, the only reason Obama hasn't done anything is because of those evil Republicans blocking him every step of the way, despite the fact that his first two years in office, he's had one of the most favorable Houses and Senates afforded ANY President. They were fillibuster proof until his third year in office, and still didn't pass any type of budget or do anything outside of executive order lol.

I am unsure when Americans will wake up and recognize the ingorance in their train of thought, especially when it comes to politics, but I'm afriad it's likely to be too late lol. it's a shame they can't see their own hipocrisy and ignorace because they have their heads so far up their asses they can't see anything but crap.

You can have your Republicans, and you can have your liberal Democrats, I'll take my freedom and do my own thing.

You hit the nail on the head. Nothing has gotten done lately and there is a bunch of finger pointing in both directions.
