Anderson close to signing extension with UFC, want fights with Bisping, GSP and Jones

i wonder how bad he will try to duck a vitor rematch if belfort makes quick work of bisping next month. funny how he didn't even mention him in the article yet he is in a #1 contender match next month.

 

Dana made it clear Belfort won't be getting any title shots any time soon. Not to long ago he was brutally knocked out by Silva

So now he wants to fight Jon Jones? I wonder what Jones will say when he finds out Silva call him out... I wanna see that bout so freaking bad. If Silva stops Jones takedowns he will knock him out no doubt

 

Silva already said he'd fight Jones back in November.

 

As for ducking Vitor... :rolleyes:

That's not right. Isn't a #1 contender match supposed to be between the 2 top prospects in the division fighting for a shot at the belt? I'm really growing tired of dana's new philosophies behind title shots.

So bisping who arguably is ranked higher than vitor in the MW division gets an automatic title shot for beating vitor who is ranked below him now, but yet if vitor beats the higher ranked opponent that still doesn't mean anything?

doesn't logic and reason say that if you beat the higher ranked opponent thats just as impressive if not much more so than a higher ranked fighter beating a lower ranked fighter?

if vitor runs through bisping i think everyone would be in agreement he at the very least deserves a #1 contender fight of his own at that point, either between weidman or belcher once he beats okami.

why wouldn't they? weidman is injured and whoever wins the okami/belcher and the costa/tim fights should still have at least 1-2 more fights first imo.

who else should they give the shot to if vitor destroys bisping?

Either way, they will find someone else

 

Silva finished him already

 

JBJ finished him and that was his last fight

 

Even if he Air Hendo's Bisping he's not getting the shot

Silva vs Jones is a serious challenge for both and could go either way.

Agree. GSP has nothing much to offer Anderson. Jones and Anderson is an epic fight.

 

I do think Anderson has a size advantage. Freddie Roach, who has trained both, claims that Anderson is too big for Georges.

As much as I really dislike George, he is the most dominant wrestler the UFC has seen, and wrestlers are the fighters that have always given Silva his toughest fights. Travis Lutter, Hendo, Sonnen all gave Anderson problems...

 

In terms of who is best for their respective weight, I'd say Silva,Jones,GSP.

But stylistically GSP is the perfect guy to beat Silva, not that he could, but he would have a much better chance IMO than Anderson does of beating Jones.

In an Anderson haters brain he is always ducking somebody. He fights Jones he is ducking Weidman and vice versa. Hell, these are the same people who thought he was ducking Chael. The only real ducking is by GSP against Andy.

How does George set-up his wrestling against superior strikers? With footwork, fients and a stiff jab. If he presses and isn't absoultely perfect for five rounds he's getting face planted. If he stays away and somehow draws Silva in he'll survive longer perhaps but he'll still get picked apart and tko'd. He's screwed either way. Everyone is comparing George the wrestler what he can do to WW's none of which have been anything even close to Silva stylistically and Anderson is not as easy to takedown as everyone thinks.

 

Stylistically GSP is a bloody stain on the mat before he even knows what hit him. If he makes it past the second round it'll be a miracle. Anderson KO/TKO's him before championship rounds even on his worst day and GSP's best.

Hmm Maybe because the last time they fought Belfort didn't make it out of the first round...... Just guessing I mean it wasn't like it was a close fight

Both Lutter and Chael are way bigger than George. Lutter im not even going to comment on because Anderson is a totally different fighter and that was soo long ago and Chael is much much better at timing and closing distance than George. It's Chaels whole standup game and he's very very sharp at it. IMO Chael is absolutely the best at using disrupting punches to press and timing to dodge and shoot and once he gets a good tight position he is atleast as good if not better than George at offbalancing and flowing into finishing the takedown.

 

GSP's standup has become robotic now and it's actually fairly predictable. He only gets away with it because of his wrestling and fighting people physically smaller than him with inferior reflexes and one dimentional game plans.

 

Time and time again George winds up a stain on the mat against Anderson.

Oh right. And remind me again how long Cain lasted in the first jds fight? Not even a minuete and he gets a rematch after beating a guy making his ufc debut LOL.

 

Obviously vitor has already done more than enough compared to Cain to get his rematch, especially once he demolishes bisping. Also not to mention vitor was coming off over a year layoff in the first Andy fight and it was also his first cut to middleweight; yet he STILL managed to tag and rock silva in their fight which is a hell of a lot more than Cain could ever say.

Vitor was dominating Anderson before that flukey kick and he recently saved Jon Jones from embarrassment by letting go of an armbar. Vitor is The Real Deal, not Ross Pearson.
