Xhojin
First off I don't care who won. I just care that it was an obvious sham. That fight was obviously thrown in order to have a big payday rematch. 1.) JDS, one of the best strikers in the HW division suddenly doesn't keep his hands up at all. ever. not in the first round when he was fresh and not in the last round when he somehow still had energy to thrown body shots... but not put his hands up He never put his hands up instead he just stood still and let himself get tagged. 2.) Body shots. Even when he was down 3 and 4 rounds JDS, who has a ton of KOs on his record, only threw body shots on Cain, a man with a suspect chin. A notorious head hunter who is losing his fight and can now only win by KO suddenly only throws body shots on a guy that others have almost KOed. That makes no sense. 3.) Jabs to the side of Cains head. Multiple times in the fight JDS jabbed to the left side of Cains head. Cain had no head movement, didn't slip the punch yet the jab wifffed passed the left side of his head over and over. 4.) Prefight DFW said it would be great for then if Cain could win so they can capitalize on the Hispanic market. 5.) Areial Helwani is already tweeting that the rematch is gonna be next NYE So fixed. MattN
Good speculation, but... JDS did land some hits to Cain Face, wasn't power shots. I don't know why he won't keep his hands up after eating that big overhand right and his coach told him to many times. If you believe fights are fixed, then you should stop watching right now. This one was just so illogically fought that it only makes sense it was thrown. There is no way that the only hard shots thrown by a proficient striker who is down on rounds are body shots unless he isn't trying to finish the fight. That put together with the jabs and straights that were thrown just to the side of a stationary Cain's head make it obvious. The only shots that JDS ever throw even close to Cains heads were very looping slow awkward shots. Nothing threatening at all.

I dont' think Cain was in on it to be honest. He fought like he should. and Kudos to him for that. It's just that JDS fought like a mentally retarded child and nothing like he normally does. There is no way a fighter down on rounds throws hard body shots but never anything to the head unless he is trying to lose the fight. He was down 3-4 rounds. Could still dart in and out, and still through big body shots. He knew he was losing yet never threw anything hard to the head, which was his only chance to win. Makes no sense. I'm not butthurt over who won. I just think it's sad that the UFC has resorted to fixing fights in order to expand their market.

I love even more that you are advanced enough to know that strings can be pulled in favor for fighters in order to make a payday. In this case I didn't see the fight. In the Brock NOOB days I use to say Cain could beat Brock and my brother use to say JDS could beat Brock (for years). Money is the root of all evil and never give up your gutt feeling or theory. After all, "Kimbo slice is the best fighter in MMA ever" Remember that? People will catch up. But again, I'm not sure if your theory is significant. I can't wait to watch the fight. RodrigoRua
OP could be exagerating BUT what do you say about: 1. Edgard getting a shot at Aldo after 2 losses ? 2. Sonnen getting a shot at Jones (via TUF on FOX) after a loss Regarding JDS vs Cain there are only 3 ways to go and YOU puck one: 1. Fixed for an eventual #3 bout (if JDS beated Cain tonight Cain would had no meaning at HW division anymore) 2. JDS was off 3. Cain is the better man, period. MaaS
Well here how it goes. 1 - Cain was defeated by JDS last year and fought Bgi-Foot for got a title shot right away ??? Now Roy nelson and Stefan Struve have been putting KO's and TKO's for all year without even one title shot. how come no one picked them. Not forgetting JDS won all three. - JDS fight was funny, some say he was injured and he did not play well, other say he had to lose to keep the HW running. But looking at both Cain and JDS history they both played like crap. and with performance Overreem with kill them both. I would say it was fixed - and JDS needs to brush up. Birdhound
If you really think this fight was a fix you must be retarded. Do you honestly think any athelete (especially a champion) is going to take a beating like that in a worked fight? The ref could easily of stopped it in the first, and JDS could of turtled at several points and got the fight stopped before his face got minced. Either he wasn't prepared or Cain was just better than him on the night, get over it.

And why did Cain look so happy after the win? If it was fixed, Cain wouldnt be the type of person to be happy. He takes pride in himself and competition. Hes not a damn cheat. So if this fight was fixed, was their first fight fixed too? And how about Silva vs. Sonnen? Seriously, stop making excuses for your favorite fighter. He lost. dumbkidsthesedays
it looked to me like jds was seriously fatigued. when you are fatigued the muscle surrounding and near the shoulder usually feel the effects really bad and it becomes quite the strain to hold them up even with how in shape those guys are. fatigue also wears down people mentally and it just becomes harder and harder to recover.
