UFC Bantamweight Division

Dominick Cruz is still out for some time. Renan Barao will fight Michael Mcdonald and the winner will surely get Cruz when he makes his return. Erik Perez and Eddie Wineland both had impressive wins last night. Raphael Assuncao is still in the mix as well. Who should be fighting next? Assuncao vs Wineland maybe, should Perez receive a top contender? How will the division play out with Cruz on the sidelines. Thoughts/Opinions?

I think Erik Perez needs to be raised up slowly, he's very young and they're really going to push him as a Mexicans star if they can. Don't chuck him in the deep end too fast. He's 3-0 but if you look at his competition it's some of the lowest in the division.

I'm not sure how long Cruz will be out but perhaps they could do Assuncao vs Wineland and the winner fights the winner of Barao/MacDonald if Cruz is still out. I'd like to see the interim champs stay active and not just hold their spot because they're scared to lose.

Erik Perez is a bum in comparison to the guys who border outside the top 10 like Jabouin, the only reason the 12-4 fighter has hype is because he's a Mexican.

The Bantamweight division is a mess but I think Wineland vs Assuncao makes a lot of sense for the next man in line to face Barao vs McDonald. After that it's hard to judge where all the guys fit in but I have my eyes on Francisco Rivera
