I'm not going to hide it, I'm a huge fan of Gegard. I would love nothing more than to see Gegard vs. Gustafsson. I think that would be one hell of a fight, and if Gegard can drop back to MW, no question about it he can whup Anderson Silva behind.

Gegard has some of the best stand up in mma no question about it!

Its hard to picture anyone beating Silva! But Gegard has better odds than anybody But Weidman at the moment. He matches up well with Anderson because his striking and submission game are so good. His wrestling isn't the best but Anderson isn't gonna be shooting for double legs so that doesn't matter. He makes a more interesting match up than Bisping thats for sure!

Hope it happens, its a fight i've been wanting to see for a long time. I think Silva should win it, hes a more well rounded fighter but it could be a war. It makes more sense than GSP or Jones for Silva and if he wins it will mean he's beaten two decent fighters in his career (Hendo being the other).

Gegard shut.up you live on cans,half-cans,former stars(read cans)

Well hes got pretty much as good a record as Silva tbh. Hes beaten Babalu, Lombard, Manhoef, Hunt and Jardine. Apart from Hendo Silva hasn't had any better competition than that and on the whole i'd say hes fought less dangerous fighters. I do still think Silva wins, but its a perfectly reasonable matchup to make.

Can Gegard wrestle? If not......FAIL!!!!!

I think this is pretty much it for ANY of Andersons challenges. That been said, Vitor/Bisping winner will another striking showcase for Anderson. The problem is, however, you cant only be a wrestler to fight Anderson but also a wrestler who can finish either by sub or a nast GnP (ask Sonnen).

That is why matchups make such a huge difference in this sport.IMO Gegard could not move through the ranks because he would eventually face several wrestlers and take losses. If he was just handed fights ,the way Sonnen and MANY others get handed fights,he would pose Silva a serious threat.

I see Gegard losing after a very COMPETETIVE fight in round 2 or even 3. But that's only because Anderson Silver can't be KOed. His head is stronger than BigNogs in his prime.

I dream of Silva beating Jones and staying at LHW and then Mousassi and Machida battling it out for the MW belt. That'd be one hell of a fight!
