I have to disagree with Maldonado even though I'm a fan of his. Their has been plenty of fighters that have gone down in weight and been successful case in point TJ Grant, and plenty of fighters who have gone up in weight and not look the same as before.

He should really re consider dropping down he is too small of LHW to be competing in that division.

What u guys think?

Ah that's stupid for him to say...he can't remember any one dropping a doing well?

how bout randy who dropped down and won a title twice be4 going back up

how bout Tim Boestch a top 10er with a top 5 win under his belt

How bout Maia went from mw to WW and is a real threat to the champ

How bout Demetrious Johnson dropping down an winning a world title

Kenflo dropped form middleweight down and down...still never got a title but no one thinks he could have ever got it at MW

The list goes on and on and his best example of a guy going up and doing better is a guy who got popped for roids lol...I have a better example in randy moving back up to HW

I'm sorry you lose me as a fan (like he cares really...let's not play like they care what a fan thinks) if when faced with losing your job you don't try your hardest to keep it or for **** sake try and win by cutting weight...its one thing if your body cant do it ....its another if you just dont care to try

There are guys out there who maybe just aint able to lose the weight like D.C and has a doc telling him that...but even he acts like hes still willing to try...cant say the same for fabio

He should make the drop to Middleweight, that weight class suits him a lot better than Light Heavyweight. You have fighters in the same weight class as Maldonado that are twice as big. He would be a decent sized middleweight and his power would translate well at 185 as well as his hand speed.

I can't see anyone not named Anderson Silva finishing Fabio at 185, this guy has a ridiculous chin.

Vitor has crazy power aswell as speed...I'm sold he csn finish any 185er and most 205er with a nice combo

And the crazy thing is we have to bring up the top 2 strikers just to find a guy with the chance to finish him....MW is the divison for him

He'd never be top 10 at MW, his technique standing along with sick cardio advantage from carrying no muscle at 205lbs helps him apply his boxing very well even though Glover thoroughly outstruck a 22-0 pro boxing champion and dropped him, when he had never been dropped standing in something like 45 pro fights.

He'd start to look slow at MW and the fighters are more technical so he wouldn't be able to rely on his technique so eaisly, along the fact he'd start to have BAD cardio instead of good cardio. he'd be just as easily worked over in the clinch, takedowns, grappling and so on at 185 too though.

Look at some of his fights, McSweeny really battered the guy until McSweeny gassed then Maldonado turned it on him. I just don't see how he'd be any better at 185, again MMA fans thinking any fighter who drops down will have a better career is silly. Just because THEY CAN doesn't mean THEY SHOULD.

I'm not sayin he could contend...im just sayin at 185 he would not be riding 3 losses and with hopes of not getting cut

As of right now by all rights dana have ever right to cut him...and moving to 185 seems to me the best choice to take to keep a job in the ufc and win...if you don't take every route available to win then I don't know why hes here then

If he reason was that his body cant do it then i woukd back him 100 percent...but that's not it...his reason is no one drops and does when history as of last has shown that dropping does help and at worst just produces the same result...those are my points
