dbf1
IMO Eddie has beaten the better fighters Michael's best win is Torres who hasn't been the same since he dropped the title in 09 while Eddie this year has beaten Jorgensen and Pickett no offense to Michael I'm a fan of his but I don't think he should be ahead of Eddie at all
Me_Against_The_World
Michael is 21 and has a record of 15-1 and he's knocked everyone put infront of him clean out in recent memory. Wineland is something like 2-2 in his last 4 fights? He's looked awesome against 2 really tough, skilled BW's though. His game reached a new level it seems. Wineland vs Assuncao to face the winner of Barao vs McDonald?

dbf1
Yeah but Eddie has been up against the best in the world in those fight Michael hasn't fought anyone who was considered the best in the world when he fought them and Assuncao is suspended indefinitely due to injury so he may not be fighting any time soon I think it make since to have Eddie fight the winner of Barao vs McDonald
dbf1
Wineland is something like 2-2 in his last 4 fights? ^ Yeah but those were against top 10 and top 3 guys his been fighting much better fighters then Michael has been

Seriously though, he needs at least 1 more really impressive win over a highly ranked guy before he should be considered for a number 1 contenders fight or a title shot especially in my opinion. Assuncao makes perfect sense but if the injury makes the timing of the fight impossible then I'd think possibly Faber if he wins his next fight could face Wineland or if Easton wins his next fight could face Wineland. Am I missing any other options? Actually if Yuri Alcantara wins his Bantamweight debut I'd like to see Wineland vs Alcantara even.
Jbrahams
The people Eddie lost too would beat McDonald and are better than any of McDonald's competition (Benavidez and Faber > McDonald and his opponents) C'mon McDonald's biggest wins are Torres (as you mentioned, over the hill), Soto (no longer in the UFC), Cariaso (SD), and Figueroa (not even Top 20). I'm a huge McDonald fan but Wineland is better than him, and Barao is DEFINITELY better than him. I'm sorry but Barao is gonna put a beating on McDonald and beat him in all aspects of MMA, and I say this as a McDonald fan and not really a Barao fan at all. I don't mean to use MMAmath but it's much similar to the Munoz situation (unjustifiable ranking)

Wineland is 2-2 in his last 4 fights, He's gotta show us a little more than he already has before I'm convinced he's ready for Cruz, Barao, McDonald and the whole " I'm a fire fighter first, mixed martial artist second" worries me about the legitimacy of him being a contender some of his fight camps are hitting a heavybag at he fire station and riding around in big red trucks. Picking Pickett apart and smashing Jorgensen's head in is really impressive but that's just 2 fights coming off 2 defeats regardless of who they were and how he performed. Ok u seemto be just as much of a Michael fan boy as I am a Eddie fan First of Eddie has big power as well(he's the only man to ko Jorgensen) and Michael has a great record but again who has he beat Yes how u win does matter but who u beat should matter more because it's easier to look good when your fighting lesser fighters then when your only fighting top 10 and top 3 fighters Eddie has fought the very best guys since he's been in the ufc while Michael has only fought 1 guy who's even top 15 maybe 20 plus some people think Torres beat mouse but not all except the 3 judges like u say there were many that agreed with the Decision

Gabri1985
Wasn't the MacDonald vs Barao fight booked before Wineland beat Pickett? if so then MacDonald was 4-0 in the ufc while Wineland was 1-2.

I didn't ask why Michael getting a title shot I asked why is Michael ranked higher Not really a fanboy of any fighters, never have been. I was just answering your questions and thread, if you don't get it you're either too stubborn to share perspective or too much of a fanboy to see what I'm saying. I get your point and yeah Wineland beat Jorgensen and Pickett to be honest I wouldn't rank a win over Jorgensen any higher than Torres they're kind of both just gatekeeper type BW's very skilled, seasoned, tough guys that put a name on your record. Pickett is a beast though ( I'm aware Jorgensen beat Pickett in the WEC ) and he has just been improving he put the breaks on the Jabouin hype badly and handled Mighty Mouse as impressively as anyone even Cruz...just a badass BW, I'd regard this win higher than Torres or anyone Michael has beaten. Still, I think MacDonald should be ranked higher, though I don't care his chance to prove himself is here against Barao how he fairs means everything at this point.
