Junior dos Santos blames personal issues, health problems for loss to Cain Velasquez

Seriously, Junior seems like the most disingenuous fighter in the octagon. A lot of the stuff he says is extremely strident, and he can't even take his one loss in the octagon without making excuses? He'd have you believe he's the most humble fighter in the sport, though. He's beginning to remind me of Bones Jones.

Remember, this guy said he was guaranteed to KO Cain again. He's clearly butthurt and embarrassed.

Oh, and Inb4Sisticriesaboutinsultingfighters!

Maybe Dos Santos will use those things called legs? Knees and kicks are good weapons you know Junior. His stand up is too one dimensional and Cain clearly showed that. Cain the "wrestler" threw lots of nice kicks and knees.

If Junior were to kick at a wrestler like Cain he would have been taken down even easier.

I am not even watching the interview. I knew something was off with Junior. We'll see what the deal is in the third fight. I got Junior by KO.

Its all about timing and not telegraphing it. He was getting taken down anyways. There were many times in the clinch he should have thrown some knees to the body. Even teet kicks to keep Cain at bay. Variety makes you more unpredictable. Cain was allowed to put his head down and charge without any concern for Juniors leg attacks. Or should I say lack thereof?

Maybe he felt like he had a better shot at defending the takedowns if his feet were under him. Cain took Bigfoot down in half a second when he threw 1 and only 1 leg kick.

I understand your point but Junior showed Cain couldn't hold him down forever like he did to Bigfoot. Junior has good TDD. He lost that fight because of inferior cardio and one dimensional striking.

This one-dimensional striking game got him the world title in 60 seconds :-c

I agree with this 100% You could see straight from the first bell something was not right with JDS, he was sluggish and getting caught with strikes he never would have before, The third fight will be decisive and I take JDS to show the eye of the tiger again 2nd round knock out with one of those beautiful uppercuts he likes to throw

I hate it when fighters say this stuff after fights especially when they get dominated like JDS did (Cain also had excuses after his loss to JDS btw).

What you guys need to understand is that he's first of all, a human being and secondly he's a professional.

Are you going to sit there and say you guys don't make up excuses when something in your life goes wrong, people find out about it and you get defensive trying to blame it on something else?

Now imagine the entire MMA community judging a fighter and questioning him and his skills at every turn...

It's like this to all fighters, but I always lose a little bit of respect for them when they do it.

By saying this stuff, he's kind of hinting that if those things weren't affecting him, he would've won when in all reality Cain went through some tough times in his camp also that's for sure.

OMFG, STFU!

Junior looked more excited as he walked out than he ever had before. He was bouncing around in his corner like he couldn't wait to get his hands on Cain. When the bell rang, by the way, he was as light on his feet as he had ever been. I used to wonder why fighters make excuses, but now I realize that it's because gullible, pattern-seeking buffoons like you people eat them up.

Smh... Just... Never mind.

Geezo Mr MMA I am sorry to have upset you by challenging your opinion, Okay you say JDS was totally fine so he must have been, ERR NO so why dont you sit back STFU and realise that some fighters HAVE valid reasons for not performing well, You say JDS looked focused excited or whatever, I agree he did but thats easy when punches aint coming at you, From the moment the bell sounded he looked sluggish constantly backing up no punch accuracy he was getting caught by cain every time cain threw, that is not the JDS we have seen in the UFC, Cain may have beat him yet couldnt finish him in 25 minutes, lets not forget JDS knocked him spark out

Lol You say that JDS looked focused until he had punches flying at him as though that's a legitimate defense? I would agree. JDS looked focused and fresh until he caught the big punches Cain was throwing at him.

Look, you're clearly gullible. If JDS had looked any different, people would have noticed by now, but doesn't it strike you as a little odd that no one has even so much as mentioned anything like that until now? Not even his biggest fans. All of a sudden, though, you knew something was wrong the entire time, right?

By the way, I would agree that Cain didn't have any excuses. He revealed that he was injured and experiencing difficulties before he fought yet still decided to fight. No excuses.

But, all of a sudden, JDS had a slew of issues conveniently AFTER the fight and his loss is less legitimate? You're not very bright, are you?

This is no different from Cain saying he was injured when he got KTFO in 60 seconds.

Now JDS get wrecked - of course he's gonna say his game was off.

Nearly every fighter makes excuses for a loss, or bad performance. Just look at every GSP fight over the past few years.

The thing that surprises me the most is that people post these threads about these excuses we've seen a million times and you guys act shocked or 'disappointed' that a fighter would say something like this after a loss.

Its like we are at a 5 year old's birthday party and you all are watching a magic show from a two-bit magician doing the same trick over and over, still being entertained. And I'm the only cool kid in the back row not reacting to the same BS fed to us year after year.

You have my pity. LMFAO

I already explained the difference between what happened with Cain and what happened with JDS. I call BS, btw. I remember you ****ing about Velasquez's excuses. I also seem to remember you groaning about Shogun's excuses.

Double standards. Don't leave the butthurt JDS fanclub without'em.
