Sisti
I def see Jones winning that fight...who would u put him against after that fight? I could see him up against either Gus or Hendo. Hendo seems to be the more marketable fight, especially if he gets past Gus, but Gus would probably be a tougher challenge Also, I see Machida being the Fitch of the division for a few years. Easily better than everyone at LHW, but just never gets to the champ's level
EdGOAT
Probably Chael again, or a number 1 contenders fight. I'd like to see him fight a couple of more times before another title shot, but you know Dana. Jones is his cash cow and he'd want him to be champion again. BlackBaron
Well looking past Chael is kinda laughable considering he was smashing one of 2 GOAT fighters for almost almost 5 rounds in 1 fight, and for the 1st round in the second fight, so yea... I don't know about that buds. Emotional biases against fighters don't work, and looking past Chael is just laughable.
najma
Also, I see Machida being the Fitch of the division for a few years. Easily better than everyone at LHW, but just never gets to the champ's level Agreed. Although he turns 35 soon, so that won't last long. 1. Jones beats anybody at LHW 2. Machida beats anybody apart from Jones, although he is the only one that could beat Jones. 3. Rashad beats anybody apart from Jones and Machida. 4. Gus beats anybody apart from the top-3. The only guy who really stands a chance vs Jones is Anderson Silva, but that's a different story. Well looking past Chael is kinda laughable considering he was smashing one of 2 GOAT fighters for almost almost 5 rounds in 1 fight, and for the 1st round in the second fight, so yea... To be more precise: Sonnen was smashing the GOAT in 6 out of 7 rounds they fought. Also, Sonnen has only lost 1 round (to Bisping) in his last 5 or so years of fighting. GoldenAfro
Probably someone ranked around 8th or 9th so he can get some momentum to eventually challenge for Chael's belt.

DaPhreshness
I'd say there a few people in the running for it, if he can beat Chael that is. If Dan Henderson gets through Machida, there is no way you can deny that man his chance to fight Jones. If Machida wins, they might give it to him, but they'll have a much easier time denying him the shot than they do Dan. Alexander Gustafsson's done enough to earn a title shot, but once again if Dan can beat Lyoto (which I don't think he can) then I bet they'll pass him up to give the shot to him. They might go ahead and stick with the giving people title shots from different weight classes thing too and let Daniel Cormier get the next crack at Jones. That being said, none of this matters because Chael P. Sonnen is going to shock the world once again and become the new champ. Vinny Magalhaes says he can submit Jones off his back, and he's not going to be all scared to come in and let himself get picked apart like every other one of Jones' championship opponents. Polymerase
^ Very accurate. Chael beat A. Silva 6 out of 8 rounds. FACT. Also another fact is that everybody Jones faced since and including the Shogun fight FROZE in front of JBJ and were taken apart with his reach. I do NOT understand how so many elite fighters, or so called elite after those bouts, can just FREEZE for rounds in and out, knowing they will lose if they stay on the out. The only exception to this was Machida, which won the first round against JBJ, because he went for it for a bit! And that is what Chael does. What Machida did briefly, rushing Jones and winning the first round. Remember the 2nd fight against Silva? Chael took him down 2.5 seconds into the round. It was 4:57 on the clock and Silva was on the canvas, I was like whoa lol. Not to say JBJ is as easy to take down, but rest assured, Chael will be going and rushing JBJ 2 seconds into the fight, every single round of the fight. Jones is in for a serious test, maybe hardest fight so far. I don't really like Greg Jackson, but he is right not just trying to hype the fight, in that this will be the toughest fight in JBJs career so far. But the three maynard fights made me a fan. Edgar has a ton of heart and I'll never get tired of watching those three fights over and over. (by the way I was routing for Maynard in all of them lol). But you gotta love a guy like Edgar after those performances. Most men don't get up for round 2 after the 1st round of the 1st two fights. Let alone come back to win! Tahune
Sonnen is not going to win anything. He has the striking capabilities of a retarded lampshade... He can wrestle all night if he wants it will avail him nothing.
HEAVYD2117
Cormier, he is going to beat Mir and then drop to LHW where he will get an immediate title shot.
PunchBag
dont see chael winning, i know he has good wrestling but rashad couldnt get near jones to take him down and both rampage and bader were controlled by jones in the clinch and ground game. Chael is going to be to small to really do anything imo. Hes a MW fighter thats where he belongs.

B_radly1406052482
I jest about Shale. I seriously think he has no chance whatsoever against Bones. JBJ is just way too good and way to long and way to skilled at wrasslin. Shale will be dismantled and it won't be pretty. But I hope he gives him hell, hope he wins.
