NougatMcCrunch
Is it me or what? Huge UFC fan with the event right in my backyard and a huge Chael fan but for some odd reason this fight doesn't interest me at all. After seeing Chael/Anderson #2 in Vegas for #148 - I can't seem to get excited about this bout which I don't see being competitive at all. Maybe its the continued high prices that the UFC is charging ($600 for level 1 seats) will make this event a stubhub dream. Perhaps I will follow the King's advice and buy tix day of the show on the cheap. Can some explain why I am having this malaise? On the other hand I am super pumped to fly to Montreal for #158 and see some great fights.
J_o_R
Don't worry, hopefully 159 becomes 151 2.0.
Leiting
Also, the fact there are zero confirmed undercard fights lines up to date would make it hard to be excited over any stand alone main event...which I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing. On the one hand if the main events sell the events alone (i.e. Boxing) it shows that marquee fighters are truly elite, but I can't think of a single fight short of one of the Anderson Superfights (GSP or Jones) that could sell an entire event on that strength alone. Perhaps we've been spoiled with an abundance of undercard talent in recent years, because it seems like unless there are 3 or at a bare bone minimum of 2 highly anticipated fights on the card, I don't get excited for the event. Give them time to fill out the rest of the card, or follow the rumor mill to see rumored possible fights, it might boost your enthusiasm.
NougatMcCrunch
But the presale is only a week away - doesn't make sense.
Yesterdays_Hero
Jones vs Sonnen is simply a bad match up, there's absolutely nothing interesting about it. That and Jon Jones cards are usually weak.
