Dan Hardy: GSP Should Have Handed Johny Hendricks the Belt After UFC 167

GSP and his corner were not that smart or enlightened to do such a great thing. GSP might have been a great fighter but nowhere near a superhero . The least he could do after the fight was admitting hendricks win and handling him either a rematch or the belt even if it is just a gesture.

George's ego and him worrying about his record overshadowed everything good in him.

Bendo should have given the belt to Frankie/Melendez, Jones should have given it to Gus and George to Hendriks.. But none of them did and Johnny is the only one being a **** about it.

The only person I know of who gave the belt away was Filho to Sonnen, good lad.

Filho promised to walk across the cage an hand it to Sonnen, Ed Soares took it from him after they got home an shipped it to Chael. Filho is a **** Soares least has some decency.

Well the judges did declare Sonnen the winner and Filho missed weight. It was the right thing to do.

Hendrick's tried to HOLD GSP both on the fence and on the ground because he was AFRAID to fight, sorry but you don't EARN belts that way.

I would think Hardy coming from a boxing country would know how judging works. You can't simply hold a bit here and there and think you can take away a belt.Perhaps if Hendrick's had the belt he could have done enough to keep it,but he definitely did not do enough to earn it.

I guess the phrase "hand him the belt" is warranted, only way he would have got it was if GIVEN it,he never earned it.

MOST common sense people felt it was a close fight, perhaps Hendrick's won a bit more overall but round by round no way,he did not earn a belt.

IDK maybe if he and others are going to cry so much about it,he should just go out and buy himself a belt and proclaim himself the champion the way Sonnen did.

and why the **** would GSP hand over his belt to somebody who roids, and still he has already beaten twice? once via 1st round tapout to a choke, and once via 5 round decision. how many more times would GSP have to beat Hendricks in order for a guy like Dan Hardy to believe that Hendricks should be champ? has he been hit too hard in the head??

that doesnt make any sense. retiring while youre at the top, youre the champ, youve done everything, cleaned out your division and defended your title for the last 6 years and there's nothing more to accomplish and theres no point of fighting on the other hand does make sense.

Hendricks was fighting "smart", right?

That's been your retarded defense of Grease St Glass Jaw for years, you hypocrite. You're boy got his **** pushed in, you shouldn't be too mad though. That's a nightly occurrence for your boy.

To be the man, you have to beat the man.

Hendricks did nothing of the sort. His corner men BS'd him into thinking he was up and then he just tried to coast. Epic fail.

Hendricks not only beat the man, he decimated him. He beat his face to a bloody pulp and even made him forget half the fight, which is probably a good thing.

Agree 100%!!! You just forgot to mention the part about him doing it in 2 rounds when it was a 5 round fight. He pissed it all away with that pathetic 5th round. He even said in his own words he thought he had done enough so he was coasting to the decision... weird how people forget that part eh

It still amazes me that the champion can duck a title fight by missing weight.

It it absolute pure comedy that the defense force is accusing Johny of roiding. Thanks for the laugh.

its pure comedy that johnny roids ducked preliminary drug testing after at first pretending to to want to do it but then ****tucking when he realised gsp was serious and ready to go through with it

why else would he puss out if he had nothing to hide? roiders like johnny ruin the reputation and integrity of this sport.

no. johnny tapped. i wont post fight gif's directly, but the proof is right here

as for roids, of course johnny roided through camp. there is no valid reason to duck a drug test if you have nothing to hide. he should have just pretended he had a sick relative in uganda and fled the country after he ****tucked. it would have been just as obvious, but at least he would have an excuse.

no wonder gsp retired with the belt. he simply just got tired of having to fight juicers and roid monkeys. the only person in the ufc who has had to fight more cheats than gsp is anderson silva. thats the only thing anderson holds over gsp.

looks just like a tap to me. the last time i seen a fight end where the opponent was in a choke and made that kind of defensive maneuver with his right hand , herb dean stopped the fight

98 times out of 100 when a fighter does that, the ref stops the fight. 1 time out of 100, the incompetant ref misses it and the fight gets to continue. the other 1 time out of 100, everybody gets a giggle because randy is spanking tito.

I thought the same thing too. How awesome would it have been if GSP handed the belt to Hendricks and retired after that. I would have so much respect for him if he did that and I'm sure a lot of people would be praising him right now. That would have been one of the coolest moment's in MMA IMO.

Might not be the best thing for his legacy but to admit someone was better than you that night and hand them the belt would be an honorable thing. Especially since he decided to step away right after that. He could always just come back and fight for the title again.

he didnt have to look like that if the incompetant ref would have just done his job and stopped the fight after johnny roids tapped out.

he still won the fight though and retained his title. congratulations george! way to retire with the belt rather than take the chuck liddell way out.

funny how absolutely NO ONE else in the MMA world has come out and said that was a tap.seriously find one person besides a blind gsp fan that believes that was a tap. Honestly you and the other GSP fanboys that refuse to believe anything negative about your lord and savior make this forum almost unbearable. Seriously GSP could get knocked out clear as day and the fan boys would be out to say it wasn't his fault.

You must either be a new fan of the sport, a huge Hendricks nutt hugger, or just not smart enough to come to a conclusion on your own without Rogan telling you what to think. It's a fight, not a beauty contest. GSP won, get over it.

From the little picture you have, comments about the beard, and your fantasy that Hendricks won, a couple things are very clear. You are trying way too hard, and you are right butt hurt about that fight.

Still having trouble with this one huh?

Guy #1 and guy #2 are going to fight in a UFC match. Guy #1 asks guy #2 to do extra, voluntary, drug testing. Guy #2 agrees to said testing. Guy #2 then drops out of said testing, even after agreeing to it in the first place. Who's on PED's? It's as simple as that.

If you read that story 100% of the time you would say that guy #2 was more likely to be using PED's, if you didn't know who the fighters were. You are so clearly bias though, your either just trolling for a reaction to you jibberish, or actually fooled yourself into believing it.

Hendricks agreeing to the tests and then dropping out is hella shady. Get over it.

In order to be the champion you have to BEAT the champion. In no way, shape or form did Hendricks dominate him. I think is BS that so many people think that Johnny dominated GSP. GSP won rounds 1,3 and clearly 5. If it's a close fight you never give it to the challenger its always been that way. GSP is the greatest of all time with the people he fought and how he beat them. He is living a well deserved retirement right now.

Its more like this: Guy #1 and guy #2 are going to fight in a UFC match. Guy #1 asks guy #2 to do extra, voluntary, drug testing. Guy #2 agrees to said testing. Guy #2 then drops out when he sees that GSP is on the front page of their website and has been given a large discount. Guy #2 suspects something is up and asks guy number one if they can do WADA testing through the NSAC instead. Guy #1 refuses when he was not aloud to know when the test would be conducted and that he would not be aloud to vet testing I wonder whose refusal was more questionable?

Sherdog and every other media organization scored it for Hendricks. The Fertitas, who used be involved in the NSAC and have been involved in the training of MMA judges, thought that Hendricks won the fight. Dana White scored it for Hendricks. Referee Yamasaki came out and said he scored it for Hendricks. Fight metrics scored it for Hendricks. Almost every single fighter on twitter cried robbery and one of the three judges sitting at ringside scored it for Hendricks. You may be new to MMA but if the whole civilized world says that Hendricks won the fight and all of the data suggests that Hendricks out struck and out grappled him, then it probably means that he won. Its OK if your too butthurt and can't except facts. The rest of the world knows the truth.
