No title shot for Bendo.

DW says no title shot for Bendo. He was not imprezzed wit his performance.

So the criteria for a UFC title shot is not rankings or wins or loses, its how much you impress a fat little bald guy from Boston.

And yo wonder why this isn't a sport?

rankings are full of flaws in combat sports.

If we're talking about wins/losses then Bendo lost to the current champion....twice.

If you don't like the way fights are matched up you should of never got into combat sports. ****s been happening for decades, well before MMA was even in the picture.

I don't think it ultimately has anything to do with how impressed, or not impressed, Dana was with his performance last week.

It has to do with the fact that it's REALLY hard to sell a trilogy fight where one guy won the first two fights with pretty much zero controversy, nothing has really changed to any significant degree that would allow them to convince people that the third fight might have a chance of going a different way, and one of those two guys hasn't even fought again since the last time they met.

At least with Edgar/Penn 3, they're now fighting at a different weight class, they'll be coming off of TUF, and it has been a few years since their second fight, but even that one is going to be a pretty hard sell to most people given that there's basically nobody on the planet disputing that Edgar won that second fight between them.

Bendo is marketable on the outside - he's a very likeable guy, impressive physique & athletic ability, amazing life story (raised by a single mom after the father hit-and-ran), etc. The problem is, he's lame in the cage. He's usually quite competitive (no finishes though), but his ability to win decisions that he probably shouldn't have really rubs people the wrong way.

I feel bad for Thompson - the dude beat Melendez and Bendo yet lost both decisions. I really hope he decides to return.

And as far as Henderson being 0-2 against Petis I had him winning the first fight.

Perhaps, but you also think Anderson was going to win his first fight with Weidman if he wasn't "clowning".... so your opinion isn't held in high regard by anyone.

Good, why would Dana give Bendo a shot over Gilbert Melendez both are 1-1 and El Nino is 10x more exciting than Bendo (8UFC wins, 8 Dec) and he already lost to Pettis twice, doesn't make sense.

Henderson beat Melendez.

It couldn't make any more sense.

And Pettis beat Henderson, decisively. Hence why Henderson getting another title shot makes zero sense at the moment.

yes give him title **** so he can lose to pettis again makin him 0-3 thus hopefully making him irrelevant for several years to come.

Unless he goes on some significantly lengthy tear through the entire upper end of the lightweight division, he pretty much is irrelevant from a title shot standpoint as long as Pettis is the champion.

Ben should fight Tony Ferguson in a #1 contenders match.

Melvin vs MJ is for a title shot

Melvin is a can that isn't in the top ten on anyones list. If we're going to have black on black violence to decide a title shot it needs to be MJ vs Green.

So basically, give green a KOTN bonus and a title shot if you want to save time.

Yeah I gotta agree ,Bendo is starting to look like a darker version of GSP lately, He looked pretty average against Thomson, Gil should be next

lol well if one of my favorite fighters (lauzon) could knock him down and then submit him. He'd literally get penetrated by Weidman, and he wouldn't resist either.

Edgar vs Penn makes even less sense regardless of weight, Why do people think just cuz Penn Is fighing at a lighter weight we are gonna magically see the return of the legend,.He looked so slow against Edgar at Lw, hows he gonna look 3 years later at FW.........AT 170 ITS SIZE AT 145 ITS SPEED..... FATHER TIME CAUGHT UP TO BJ Penn, Dana keeps playing the same trick on US over and over again.THIS TIME time the real BJ is back, and face it we have not seen him really since he fought Diego Sanchez How many years ago, and really how hard is it to look good against a guy who leads with his face.

Oh, I agree completely. I was just saying in terms of trying to sell the fight, they've at least got the hook of it being a different weight class than the last time they fought, which is something different than the first two that they can play up.

In terms of the actual fight itself, I have zero interest.

FFS he just beat Melendez and Thompson back to back.

Think Petis could do that?
