Finally got around to watching Roma on Netflix last night.

I had a pang of emotion throughout the final third (as much as I could since the events were pretty much foreshadowed on the side of a freight train), but tbh I was more connected/intrigued by the over the top cinematography and wide tracking shots than anything going on in the thread bare plot. There wasn't enough substance for me to become immersed as what the critics and cheerleaders of the film have reported.

Technical rating of 8/10. Enjoyment rating of about 5/10.

Watched last year coz of hype, .. wife enjoyed it a whole lot more than I did !

Was ok if you grade it on the DCU curve, Obi Wan was the MVP.

I liked the time jumps in the story and how they introduced the characters.

The cop was made to be a punching bag, slight negative.

Thought it was a fun movie

We went at the 6:30 show on opening night and maybe 15 people in the whole theater. I hope it does ok because I like what DC is doing lately and I appreciate that they gave us a R rated HQ movie instead of going for the extra cash grab.

"Is that a snot bubble? I change my mind" drew the biggest laugh and probably set the bar too high too early but i still enjoyed it.

Any of you seen this yet? My mate wants to go see this later this week, had to explain to them that I will not willingly watch anything with Kristen Stewart ever again.

Like this way more than expected.

Sienna Miller, Black Panther, J Jonah Jameson and John Carter.

Produced by the GOAT Russo Brothers.

I wasn't gonna watch because I heard a bad review, but I'll watch it now. Thanks

1. Have always been indifferent to the Shining
2. Lost my appetite for horror movies awhile ago.
3. Version I watched was 3 hours long.

That being said.

1. I kinda liked this.
2. More of a creepy thriller than horror
3. 3 hours still way too long.
4. Rebecca Ferguson is ultra hot.

I kept seeing it being advertised as "The best vide game movie of all time" was sitting thinking to myself that's really not a high bar to clear lol.

Went and seen it last night for a laugh with my little cousin, was ok for kids, did not expect that post credit scene

Talking of bleak films, I just watched Threads for the first time. Jeezo. Makes The Road seem like Carry On Camping.

**** it must be grim then, still remember watching that and thinking this might be the most depressing film I've ever seen lol.

I just watched The Road. Didn't think it was that depressing. There must be something worse. Did wonder about what was the point of the movie, though. Life's a b**** and then you die?

Uncut Gems

When Sandler wants to do serious acting he's actually pretty good at it.

The personalities annoyed me after awhile but I agree that he does a good job and overall it was a good movie.

Had some time to watch a couple of movies.

A thinking man's movie this one. Hidden hints all throughout the duration. Some suspense and intrigue. Pretty good. 7/10

----

In the Tall Grass. Seems good on paper (director of Cube, Stephen King and his son's original book), but the result is confusing, repetitive and unengaging. This one had good ideas -mostly metaphors- but forgets to make a good movie. It is more fun to think about it than to watch it.  5/10

___

Mandy has cult film written all over it. Psychedelic visuals and atmosphere, Nic Cage let loose, brutal violence... a bit messy and slow start but scores high on originality. 8/10

Randomly caught 12 monkeys the other day. Held some extra significance with this Corona business, especially the airport scenes as we just had a guy come through Logan airport in Boston with the zip flu

Who would have thought that CGI'ing an entire movie, including the dog for a movie that's suppose to be about the great outdoors, would backfire.

Yeah m8 the trailers for that legit pissed me off. These cgi cnts taking jobs away from dog actors. Not to mention the cgi was god awful.
