How often do you block or unfriend people on Facebook?

I used to be very passive and just unfollow people if they annoyed me. However, over the last few months Ive decided that the only way to get rid of someone who doesnt know how to behave is just to ditch them, since they still follow me.

I have a pretty diverse group of family & friends, ranging from those who love a hardcore debate, to those who simply enjoy sharing positive sentiments. So, while I personally DGAF if someone is gonna be an **** from time to time, some folks just use the internet to be ****s at will.

Go to settings and click on blocking, then type in the blocked user's name and press block.

To unfollow/unfriend someone, just go to your main page and click on friends.  Then when you are on your friend's page, it'll say the user's name and the friend button.  Press the friend button and a drop down menu allows you to unfriend that user.

A combination of never sending friend requests, and only accepting them from people I know has led to my having a pretty small Facebook friends list, so almost never.

I have unfollowed a couple of people that constantly post annoying stuff though.

I actually block my current mgt...not wise to let them have any access to your personal business which they could find concerning

Agree.

I've had to terminate people's employment based off things they posted on Facebook.  My profile is private and not searchable.

I was Facebook friends with a few of my supervisors at my old job. I don't post anything on Facebook that would be a problem if they saw.

That was not his question.

I only un-friended one real life friend because his online persona is so full of **** that I don't want it to taint my in person perception of him.

I refused joining FB for the longest time, but it is a fantastic way to keep in touch with close friends when you move to another country.

This ^^^

I had a Facebook years ago and I deleted it because I thought it was dumb

Then I wanted to have some interaction with people from high school and the Navy and family that don't live close, so I made another a few years back

At first I was adding whoever the **** sent me a friend request and had a rediculous amount of "friends". I started to notice that I was rarely seeing posts from people I actually cared about so I did a purge

I got probably around 250-300 friends now. All people I know personally from school/Navy/work and what not. Got a few friends that I truly consider friends that I've never met, but it's just a handful

I'm still not on there a lot, I like my instagram

I've been unfriended by a few of my died in the wool socialist friends, lol. Mainly because they can't handle someone who disagree's with their politics.

I've never unfriended anyone or unfollowed anyone. I like to hear all points of view, especially those that I disagree with.

I wouldnt advise anyone to add me, my facebook activity is boring

I've found I've got **** all to talk about on facebook anymore but I still check from time to time to see how family are doing.  I've got a group of friends from another forum, that doesn't exist anymore, that I've never met IRL but wouldn't hesitate to meet in the future.  Good group of people though one of them can be a twat.  One of the members died last year and even though I never met him others had been to his home in Gibraltar and had a great time and we all interacted really well.  Facebook actually got a lot more boring for me when he passed.  He was properly hilarious

The last person I blocked on facebook started posting some ridiculously racist **** and said he'd joined the English defence league and saying all foreigners should be deported from the UK.  When I hit him up on it he said 'your alright, you're not one of them Poles or Pakis'  I called him a twat and haven't spoken to him since either on line or IRL.

NoCake's extreme right-wing views can be very taxing sometimes.

I defriended crangs a while back, he only posts motivational **** and it pisses me off

I was ignoring your posts long before then anyway.  There's only so many times you can see someone dressing up their cat to look like them before it gets creepy.  The Fifty Shades of Grey theme was tew much

I'm in a band and every time the main guy in the band mentions my name I get a bunch of requests from **** lickers. All they do is fight over who and what is the most "metal",. It's in the top ten of gay activities.

yeah, i hate getting tagged in conversations I have zero interest.  The facebook message app is getting on my nerves as well.  I get added to messages I don't want to be in and it keeps sending updates on the message if you don't 'leave' the conversation.  I deleted it off my phone, it then downloaded itself again by stealth in the next facebook update before I deleted it again

The answer is whatever haircut Layne Staley is currently wearing in the pic you're looking at him in.

Lol, I do that to annoy some of my mates I'm afraid - a lad has just had a kid and posts nauseating picture after update about it (including whenever it throws up) - I've taken to tagging a mutual friend who gets even more wound up than I do every time he posts something baby-related.  It kinda takes the sting out of it for me :)

I've stopped with the 'my kids are wonderful' posts.  I occasionally post pics for my parents but I tend to just email them so they get them in better quality.  I'll probably put some more up now the weather has improved and we'll get do more

I've probably made 20 facebook posts on my timeline all year.  I've commented on a couple of statuses but it really has lost it's appeal now.  I only time i really use it now is to message my parents organizing a time to skype them so they can talk to the kids.
