Something big just NEEDS to happen in the fight because it is a no win situation for both. If Nate wins they will claim it was just a step too far in a crazy attempt to jump two weight divisions and if Conor wins he has beat a lightweight who is not really relevant to the LW title picture at Welterweight, Surely a win over Nate at 170 cannot earn Conor a title shot at 170 because there is a killers row waiting their turn at 170 and both Carlos and Rory deserve their shots as does Thompson and Nate was really sent packing from the division with back to back losses

What is retarded about the post? Do you believe either actually make any gains apart from financially in this fight? They cannot make gains in their own 155 division because its at 170 and they do not make gains at 170 because Conor has never fought at 170 and Nate was chased from the division by two dominating losses

Lol it's all both of them care about. Well, Conor also cares about multiple belts, but guess what, a win over Nate and if WW runs out of contender, guess who they're gonna call

One thing the welterweight division will never run out of is contenders to that throne and right now the top 5 or 6 in the division are so close the title could quite easily change hands a few times a year, There is also the inevitable comeback of the greatest welterweight ever GSP he will be back soon enough and that will again shake up an already exciting division. As for Diaz and Conor both of their careers will play out at 155, Conor knows he is not big enough for welterweight and Diaz has been found out at 170 before.

Unfortunately like you say that guy will likely get a call regardless of how exciting a division is

Even if Nate failed a test, they would not announce it until after the fight is over just to get  the card in.

Not a relevant fight at all, maybe for Nate if he wins he gets a trophy on his wall but nothing more.

However i still remember when the UFC set Nick Diaz up for a 170 title shot beating a 155'r in Penn. The UFC simply tries to make fights to create revenue and if they are meaningless fights then they try and create some hype around them like calling them title shots or interim etc etc.

IMO no matter who wins they are right back where they started.

No they didn't you idiot.  They outright tried to give him a title shot against Georges St. Pierre first fight back in which Carlos Condit was scheduled to fight BJ Penn in the co-main event.  Nick was missing press conferences and they pull him from the fight and gave it to Carlos and put Nick in the co-main against Penn.  Georges proceeding to get hurt and Diaz vs Penn became the main event.

Try to keep up dummy.

well, they are trying to make a shortcut for connor to get a shot with lawler.because RDA will definitely take him down and submit him unlike with robbie that will stand and bang wherein connor might have a chance.

Diaz is such lol,he basically stands around and just throws his long lanky arms out there to get in the way.

He did not win his last fight, you don't deserve wins for slapping your arms out there but then Johnson did not fight as smart as he could either.Still nobody is talking Johnson-Conor yet Johnson easily handled Nate.

Point being,is this even a fight?A solid striker versus a girly slapper and Conor won't shy away from those girly slaps like so many others do.I see Conor knocking Nate down several times and Nate staying on the mat begging Conor to come to the ground.

IMO such a dumb fight,i was hoping Conor would lose but i don't like Diaz so maybe they can KO each other at the same time.

Nate with no camp and will fail a drugs test. The UFC are setting him up.

He's setting his self up

If he says he's always ready then he should be able to pass the drug test

If he cant, then he's not always ready

Not that the drug test failure would put much of a dent in this paycheck LoL

I feel like Nate took a bribe to take a dive. In the press conference, Nate was asked, " Are you going to win?" Nate simply said he is coming to fight.

That sounds fishy.

Nate just seems off to me too he is usually much more aggressive, Although in some of the interviews etc he seems focused and a focused Diaz may just be a scarier proposition
