Dems strategy is easy, Buy votes, keep power, pay off friends via taxpayer funds.

Republicans goes like this. Buy votes, keep power, pay off friends via taxpayer funds.

Theres gonna be a whole new generation of government subsidized environmentalists and rednecks coming soon. Tax payers take the 6 trillion hit now, on top of the 22 trillion debt, and now a whole generation of Red and Blue Government subsidies.

Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders held rallies in Windsor, Ontario and Tijuana, Mexico. Those fools don't even know what country they're aiming to get votes from anymore.

Sweat, so with the borders closed to non essential travel, those 2 idiots can deliver some stimulus money up here.

To be fair though, your two idiots go what, a few miles out of country to pander for votes to try for the big seat. The idiot in my countries seat goes all around the world trying to get a seat with the stupid UN.

So you could always have it worse.

I just love the fact that Liberals are now in favour of propping up big businesses as they dont want to see them crash and burn, as long as they get their cheques.

Then republicans are big on socialism and hand outs from the tax payer dime while the debt skyrockets.

Funny how peoples views change when they can get some "free" cash from the givernment

Well when about 20% of the money is only going to the people and the rest is going to big companies, half assed foundations, or in the pockets of politicians I can see why they're on favor of it.

Seriously, $2.2 trillion for a realistic $500 billion stimulus.

What a joke.

Oh no no no.
2.2 trillion is direct monies. The stimulus comes in around 6 Trillion, and joe blow household will see 2400$ which helps for what, 3 weeks for the average person? 4 to 5 for the poor, and 1.5 to 2 for working class?

If these people are locked down for any sigmifigant amount of time, you just added 6 trillion to your debt, you put a bandaid on an amputation, and people will still be there with their hands out waiting for more.
Meanwhile, big companies will be saved, small businesses will be closed, becasue lets be real here, they are not in the position to get the monies they need to stay open, or have the people in place to classify for any real money anyway.

In the end itll be a slightly less painful experience, but people who were ****ed now, will still be ****ed in a few weeks.

I have "Conservative" friends who are always big on the anti tax, anti welfare, work for your money blah blah blah.|
Now they are talking using the Banks deferals on their mortgages, looking at how they can get the quick access funds. Then they get mad at me when I asked them why they are needing these emergency measures. Handouts are for losers, or so they used to tell everyone. :)

Someone clarify this for me. Is there now an order for mandatory service from former servicemen?

President Trump on Friday signed an executive order authorizing the Pentagon to bring back former troops, including members of the National Guard and Ready Reserve eserve members, to active duty as part of the ongoing response to the coronavirus crisis.

"Today the President signed an Executive Order authorizing Secretary Esper to order units and individual members in the National Guard and Reserves and certain Individual Ready Reserve members, to active duty to augment forces for the effective response to the coronavirus outbreak," Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement

I'm against it 100%. I would have preferred a payroll tax cut like they were originally talking about. But guess what? The welfare bums and corporations wouldn't get their cut from it.

This just added $65,000 debt to my one year old before he can even walk.

Ridiculous.

Ridiculous.

I dont know if I am fully against it. But what they presented was utter bull****.

Here they passed an 82 billion dollar package that will mostly be paid out in employment insurance type of payments up to 2000 a month, for 4 months.
Then I see people saying, what about the seniors, or what about the poor, or what about.... Everyone has a cause they want addressed.|

My comment of, what about the working class who is still going to work, not seeing a dime of this and paying for all of you? That doesnt go over well either I guess.

I dont know the solution. But I know bailing out corporations who just toss that money back to CEO's and investors because they cant seem to save for the rainy day, nor is bailing out people who sit at home and dont do **** in life outside ask how large of fries I want, isnt going to fix anything.

Just once I would like to see the backbones of these countries address the theft of wages from the working man. I get taxes will happen, I understand it, I can accept it. What I cant accept is taking from me to buy heroin for some druggy, or to let some CEO not lay off 5000 people, instead he lays off 4500, and then gets a 45 million bonus for saving the stock prices.

I was asked if I am going to defer my mortgage for 6 months on my house and my rental. I am an adamant no. Why would I defer paying what I can pay now? Am I an idiot who likes paying extra for no reason? My renters paid early, 2 - eighteen year old kids with a 2 year old, working and were finishing school, can make their payment to me, I damn well will make my payment to the bank. ****, those 2 kids have a better understanding of finances than most of north america.

I never heard what he objected too. So I cannot say if I would agree or not. But Pelosi's garbage should have been exposed, as well as Moscow Mitch and his corporate welfare with no rules.

I do disagree that while knowing it was going to pass, he played the stand about calling for a roll call and having the rest of the dip****s try and fly back for no reason. That stunt could have wasted 200 grand of tax payer money for something that wouldn't have changed the vote in the end.

I just figured i'd inject a bit of positive news into all the negativity that abounds on this thread m8, lol. Even if only to see the reaction.

The markets are one hell of a roller coaster ride atm, only the very astute or those with some insider knowledge should be even glancing at it. You did well dumping your entire portfolio.

Read a financial article somewhere that with the expanded emergency powers the Treasury & FED kinda just became one. Found it here it is...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/on-small-business/the-feds-cure-risks-being-worse-than-the-disease/2020/03/27/56357a52-7023-11ea-a156-0048b62cdb51_story.html

Effectively Trump is the new FED chairman & Treasury can borrow the FED's printing press any time they want now. Print money out of thin air indefinitely.

Economy could look wonderful, stock market could soar but so will the debt.

Gold/Silver is making a comeback once this $hit crashes.
