By your own definition socialism is about government taking over or controlling businesses that produce or distribute goods,  Social Security and Medicare are government programs that tax people to create programs to help old people. They are in no way socialism.

Medicare and Social Security are mandatory govt owned/distributed good/service...the fact that they call it a "govt program" and take money from people to do it is inconsequential, and just makes it way worse from a moral perspective.

Do you believe Social Security and Medicare are socialism? The liberal agenda doesn't really meet the criteria of socialism.

It is and it isn't.

Our social security is paid directly from the worker and employer, so it's more a forced bank account.

Healthcare is just the government being the insurer. The doctors are still private enterprise just like the US, they just bill a different type of insurer than say the US where they have multiple.

It has restrictions on price and everyone has the same plan, so you lose options which does make it socialized.

I'm talking more about the idiots for the basic income for one set of people, or the carbon tax which is a tax on everything, which they then tax the tax. You have governments listening to the grettas of the world but not the business leaders for a balance. Government taking weapons from citizens with no criminal records or misuse of the weapons in the name of gun safety, then lowering the sentences for gun use in crimes which apparently doesn't help gun safety or so the liberals state.

There's just to many liberal nutjobs in this country.

This is why benign dictatorships are wayyy better than "democracy".

Putin, Xi Jinping, The queen, or Ron Swanson should be put in charge.

Not sure you'd class the first two as benign though, so we can narrow it down to the queen or Ron.

She's very benign, and is also a woman of faith. UK's nanny state is nothing to do with her.

She would definitely be preferable to most world leaders.

Albany Landlord Tied Up Evicted Tenants and Dumped Them in Cemetery

https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Albany-landlord-tied-up-evicted-sleeping-15972981.php

ALBANY — An Albany landlord has been charged with kidnapping after allegedly tying up two of his tenants with zip ties and tape, placing pillowcases over their heads and driving them at gunpoint to a rural cemetery in Columbia County where he dumped them in the snow on Sunday, according to law enforcement sources and police records.

The landlord, 48-year-old Shawn Douglas, allegedly was armed with a firearm throughout the incident and had help from two other suspects, according to police records. No other arrests have been reported. The alleged kidnapping unfolded between and 1 and 8 a.m. on Sunday.

One of the victims, a 21-year-old woman, was able to undo the ties that she had been bound with and walked to a residence near the cemetery to get help.

Douglas had apparently been frustrated because he had been unable to evict the tenants due to COVID-19 restrictions, law enforcement sources said. The tenants were both sleeping at the time he is accused of tying them up. The 32-year-old male tenant was allegedly punched and kicked before being tied up.

Douglas loaded the pair into his Dodge Durango and, with two others, allegedly drove the man and woman to what they told police had appeared to be a motel in Colonie. From there, they were driven to the isolated cemetery in Ghent, a rural town in Columbia County that's about 35 miles southeast of Albany.

By allegedly leaving the pair tied up and abandoning them in the wintry conditions, Douglas "did expose the victims to a risk of serious physical injury."

Douglas and the tenants live at a residence on Grandview Terrace in the city's South End. Douglas, who was arrested Monday afternoon, was arraigned on charges of second-degree kidnapping and was being held at Albany County jail Tuesday afternoon on $50,000 bond.

Yes.

The guy has refused to follow the health orders.

He was allowed to keep running his church, but at 25% capacity.

He didn't listen, didn't listen again, didn't listen again and again, and now he has been arrested, won't be released on bail without those conditions and he is crying like a ****.

He thinks he has a charter challenge but will do nothing more than waste more church money on his failed attempt.

For some reason, a lot of religious people think their right to the sky fairy trumps everything and somehow they cannot pray the gay away in small gatherings.

Seems like Xiden is more concerned about China than anyone else.

I don’t know why you are blaming Biden when republicans sat on their asses for about eight months refusing to do anything.

Also, I seem to recall telling you that they weren’t going to get stimulus checks out for months.

If they had won more seats they could have done it in a week, but since they can’t lose a single vote to push it through they have to placate every single democrat.

It only takes one defection and all that effort goes in the ****ter.

I am just not into idiots listening to teenage girls and setting policies from it while ignoring business completely.

‘He Cooked the Heart with Potatoes’: Man Accused of Heinous Triple Murder in Oklahoma

lawrence-paul-anderson-mugshot.jpg

https://lawandcrime.com/crime/he-cooked-the-heart-with-potatoes-man-accused-of-heinous-triple-murder-in-oklahoma/

A convicted felon in Oklahoma who had recently been paroled is now accused of murdering a neighbor, cooking the victim’s heart, and then murdering his uncle and a 4-year-old girl at a home where he had been staying on Feb. 9.

Lawrence Paul Anderson, 42, allegedly admitted that he murdered 41-year-old mother of two Andrea Lynn Blankenship in her home and cut out her heart to cook it and eat it. The Oklahoman, citing a quote from an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agent’s search warrant application, described a heinous crime: “He took the heart back to 214 West Minnesota, Chickasha […] He cooked the heart with potatoes to feed to his family to release the demons.”

People forget that the runoffs were solely won on the promises of Biden, Warnock, and the other cuck for $2,000 stimulus checks, student loan forgiveness, increased minimum wage etc.

Two thirds of that may not even happen and the stimulus checks are in limbo.

Certain posters here are so brainwashed its extremely laughable.

I dont have a problem with this because I'd rather see the fight be over businesses who give back to society and not take from it.

But if those real businesses need to be at 25%, then Father take it in the butt gets no sympathy from me.

So you don't have an issue with the govt shutting down the Rights of people to gather  b/c you don't agree with what they do...but if the group of people did something you agree with then you'd have an issue with the govt shutting down their activity.

That's called hypocrisy Sir.

There was zero chance that the Dems signed another relief bill before the election. Notice how quickly they were able to come to terms after November.

This bill is going to be full of bloated BS.

We already know that they plan to give states money based on their unemployment numbers.

Oh you ran your state like an idiot, here's tens of billions of dollars that you can spend on whatever you want.

They are also trying to force a $15 minimum wage hike into this bill. That should be a separate bill altogether as it's not temporary relief due to covid.

And?

There is a 50/50 split in the senate. To push this through they need all 50 democrats to vote yes because the entire Republican Party will fall in line to vote it down.

They can’t just rush a bill through in a week without getting every single democrat to promise a yes vote. This requires compromise and negotiation.

You are a smart guy, so you should understand this.

The house literally voted on a bill in May and sent it to the senate. Moscow Mitch threw it in the trash and sat on his **** until a couple weeks before the election.

They managed to ram a Supreme Court pick through in about a week though. They have their priorities, and helping the peasant class isn’t one of them.

The house voted in a bloated bill that they knew would never pass the senate so they could claim some moral superiority and act like they were trying to help people. The House also wouldn't consider smaller counter proposals by the GOP or negotiate in good faith.

If either side was truly trying to help people then as soon as Trump said he would sign a bill for a $2000 relief check, the House would have drafted a bill and passed it.

That didn't happen and it's obvious why.

September 10, 2020

Senate Democrats on Thursday blocked a coronavirus stimulus bill that included funds for people left unemployed by the pandemic.

In a party-line vote, Democrats withheld the 60 votes needed to consider the bill, continuing months-long gridlock ahead of Election Day. Republican leaders said the bill included widely supported bipartisan ideas, but Democrats argued it didn’t do enough.

The senate didn’t counter proposal until September. They sat on their hands all summer and then tried to pass a bill they knew the house would never accept so they could blame the dems.

The house passed their bill in May, they gave republicans all the time in the world to negotiate and they refused. They decided to stall and then try to rush a bill through and use the threat of letting benefits lapse to get dems to cave to their demands.

Republicans were playing politics and they lost.
