Seeing as though the nerds are getting pippie about me posting in the gaming thread I thought i would start my own.

 

Any others welcome if you're giving and active.  We're going to war twice a week.

Top 5 Wars (in no particular order)

 

  • 13 out of 14 first attacks were 3 stars. Comfortably beat a clan with 3 guys with infernos v our one. Matt and kk both got 3 stars.
  • The one where their th10 needed to 3 star crangs for the win. 12 l5 dragons descended with fury...and parted like a wave under the onslaught of his newly upgraded air defences. He lived. We won.
  • The one where neither side wanted to do the last attack. Their top guy brought lavaloon to bats with 10 seconds to spare. With 4 seconds to spare winter unleashed mass dragons on their th10 bristling with infernos in a yolo attempt. Both attacks were one star. We won on damage.

    • crangs defending x4 to save a potential war losing 3 star
    • YOLO 2 star on #1
    • KK hitting the game winning 3 star
  • Top 2 players (Tribal and Cox) get a grand total of 3 stars between them. War leader Chirrut thinks screw this, I'm gonna 2 star a max TH10.  TUF follows with a 2 star on the number 2, but they still only need 5 stars to win from two attacks by a TH10 on Crangs/KK.  98%, 99% and one uninstall later it's over and we've won by two stars.

That risks creating a paradox that will bring the forum down.   Given the record low levels of canliness on display at the moment that might not be such a bad thing.

yeah.... would be nice to see Juice to show up. 

 

The knockers just havent given it a go. It can be rough at first, but if you learn how to "barch" early on you can stack up resources and make quick gains.

It's a nice little game to play on the bog, or when you've got a few minutes here and there.

 

I sorta miss the early days though when stuff was built in 15 minutes!  Waiting 10 days for a level 6 Tesla was tew much!

 

Will start a war tomorrow.  Will be interesting to see how it works out with a TH10 player in the pack.  Appreciate all your generous troop giving!

ok well if you are going to start a war heres some tips on filling Clan Castles...

 

Most people think the CC troops are for killing attacking armies, when in reality its better to think of them as meat sheilds to keep enemies in front of your defensive structures longer. Sure re-enforcing a small TH5-6 with a Valkyrie can decimate an attacker of equal size, but TH7 on, you want to slow them down and attract fire.

 

If you were to fill a CC with the same type of troop, especially all of the same level, they exit the CC in a smooth speed to explain it awkwardly, where as if you were to fill with many different types of base troops they come of of the CC in a clunky fashion, so take more probing to fully pull out.

 

I had lost whole armies of 30 odd hog riders to 2 barbarians because I had miss counted the troops I had pulled out of an opponent.

 

Though this war let me fill them up, but I will leave a few spaces in each for some single lower level barbs or archers.

Thanks Genki, i hear you.  I'll take you up on your kind offer.  Will start the war search tomorrow afternoon so we'll be battling on Thursday PM (for me, AM for you).

 

So far we've gone with Valks/Wizards or dragon plus balloon.  Like you say, if it's against a fairly noobish TH6 they can lose everyone in one go; anyone half decent at TH7 and upwards and it doesn't slow them down much.

 

Our biggest problem is actually attacking....because it's a new clan, a lot of people either don't attack, or attack without doing anything about the clan castle, or attack someone who's already been 3-starred!

 

I have high hopes for our next war.

Nice one mate, how many are in your current clan?  Ours is compact and bijou.

We usually only do 15-20 member wars. We have a few new people that are active but don't war and quite a few inactive members right now. Our wars are pretty organized though, we rarely have someone that doesn't use their attacks and pretty much everyone knows our strategy or will ask what base to attack. Lower bases that don't lure CCs or regularly don't attack get the boot quick. I would like to get up to 40 vs 40 wars or better. I've never been in one over 35 vs 35

Yeah, that's my ambition one day. We're still only at the 10 v 10 stage now though.

Is it a Play Station thing?

We've got one, the boy plays it sometimes when he comes over.

I tried it once but I'm a hamfisted, cackhanded 2what, so gave up.

The only time the missus touches it, is to give it a dusting.

Clearly not a waste of a few hundred quid then :)

 

Love Backgammon too.

No, it's an app on a phone.  Nice and simple.

Btw, when i say phone, don't think of one of these.

I didn't spend gems until i had my 5th builder.  Now i don't really know what to do with them.

Definitely would not pay for gems.

Keep them for hero and spell tower upgrades imo. Eventually heroes are down a week for every upgrade or you can spend 1000 gems to get them back. It's boring without them, you are worthless in war so most people sit out.

That's a good shout.

What TH are you at?  Genki is TH10 and I'm surprised at how much more potent his troops are compared to TH8.  L4 dragons, for example, seem crazily durable.

TH9. My defenses are max so I'm just working on hero levels and walls. Heroes are basically the most important troop and they take forever to upgrade. I'm trying to get mine to level 30 before going to th10. My queen is at 25 and King is at 21 right now I think.

Yeah, i'm a big fan (although i've only got the BK at the moment).  Interestingly your heroes are both a lot higher level than our TH10 superstar.

Will be at TH9 within a month.

All of our TH10s had really low hero levels when we started the clan and it hurt for a long time. The matchups are based on base and troop strength so we would get matched against th10 and 11 bases with max heroes sometimes. It sucked.

Yeah, I'm all for maxing pretty much everything before moving up.  THere was a guy in our clan briefly who was TH11, but had L4 defences and L1-2 troops.

He didn't last long.
