Bibulatov/Sasaki & Ladd/Smith Scratched from Tomorrow Night's Show

We've got many a baby whining over MTP coming in injured, missing weight, AND STILL FIGHTING, so I'd like to see some real crying about Bibulatov and Ladd.

Let's hear it, kids. Bibulatov pulled out last second for an injury, and Ladd came in fat.

The reason you're not going to find anybody complaining about either of these two fights is because nobody cares about either of these two fights.

To be fair, Smith has been **** in the ufc, refused a fight and tried to start **** with the ufc over the fighters union she tried get up an ruining, delighted she is finally gone

They need a fighters union. The UFC has admitted in court that they pay their fighters less because they aren't unionized. Smith may not be but most fighters are drastically underpaid.

No, most fighters are drastically OVERpaid. Do you think Leslie Smith brings in anywhere near $64k for her fights? Hell no. They could replace her with literally anyone else, and it would not change the bottom line

The only fighters that are underpaid are the giant stars like Conor, Jon Jones, GSP, and Lesnar, who actually bring in WAY more revenue as a function of their pay

The UFC pays out 15% of their revenue to fighters. All other major sport organizations in the US pay out around 50% of their revenue to players. Do all of the players in the other organizations make them a ton of money? No, many will barely play but they are needed to have games, the same way that all fighters won't be stars but the lower fighters are needed to fill cards.

The average salary of WNBA players is higher than the UFC and no one watches that ****.

Bingo. The percentages you cite are the number one reason fighters need to organize. Unfortunately they can't seem to get one solid effort together.

And even if that was true, the remaining 35% should go to people that ACTUALLY bring in viewers. Not some random that literally no one cares to watch

I don't really agree with this, yeah 1 or 2 fighters per card will bring in most of the viewers, but if it was only those 1 or 2 fighters on the card there would be no card. Anyone with a brain can see the UFC is massively underpaying their fighters, regardless of their records and **** they are being paid literally **** all to compete at the supposed highest level of their sport.

You take any sport  in the world that has professional stars, that is viewed as much as this one with PPV's involved they are paid enough to not have to do any other jobs, to train full time, to have enough cash to retire at around 34-40. The UFC, barely pays its average fighters enough to live on, enough to train, no chance of retiring with anything in the bank by the end never mind having to continue fighting until at least their late 30's just to try make the most of it.

Lets take a football league for instance, we will look at the championship (Basically the 2nd Division in English Football) In no way the main league, little media coverage, maybe 1/2 matches with 2/4 teams being shown out of 24. Average attendance of the league per game is about 20k, No PPV. Players earn an average of 330k a year. No way the average UFC fighter makes that a year. And the championship is watched and looked at a lot lot less than UFC events

Paying everyone more makes for a better product. All fighters concentrating on fighting instead of 2nd or 3rd jobs make for better fights and more entertainment.

With regard to the share of revenue, if the polled $87,999 average is applied to all matches between 2013-2015 the total would add up to approximately 15% of all estimated revenue during those three years (with over a billion in revenue generated in 2014-2015 according to Dave Meltzer and around $500 million in 2013 the UFC is thought to have generated roughly $1.6 billion in total revenue during that time). This aligns closely with not only a previous estimate I came up with, but with other sources as well. Dave Meltzer reported in the July 18, 2016 Wrestling Observer that the UFC spent “in the range of $75 million to $85 million in pay for fighters” in 2015, a year the company grossed “$608,692,000”. This corresponds to a 12% to 14% share for the fighters. In addition, according to the Guardian “In 2015, when its revenue was around $600m, Zuffa spent ‘over $100m’ on ‘athlete costs including compensation, insurance, medical and travel’.”

Leslie Smith ear blew off her head... Frickin legend

That's what puzzles me about her refusal to fight. She was one of the few who took the Cyborg fight when no one else was willing, and Smith is in no way a 145er (you could make that argument for Holm, since she boxed around that weight and is huge for 135). She took a beating and was mad when the ref called it off. The fact that she refused to fight someone who missed weight by a couple of pounds is just strange.

Maybe she wanted out of her contract but didn't want to say it?

I think her contract would have been extended for another fight, if they didn't pay her win bonus, and only paid the show money.

She thought she could force another fight on them, and they avoided it.
