heading over to Seattle in August. Staying with fam for about ten days then heading to Vancouver to sneak up on IDYB and push him off his tractor and drink his beer.

they are really keen to go to Portland. Apparently it's good.

I'm not sold.

Convince me why or why not!

thanks m8's

I went to seatac in January, I don't drink, but I went to Costco to get costco brand gin and rum, the bottles were like 17 or 18 bucks a piece with the booze tax it cam to like 71 bucks.

the reefer is cheap and ultra dank.

but just like Portland, seattle/tacoma is a liberal mecca, I can't be there, nice scenery, geography and sights tho

I know her name as well and yeah, he's definitely living at home.

Thinking of sending her a letter with some screen grabs of his Twitter feed

She definitely doesn't go in his room.  Every possession he has is on that desk.  From a 1995 stereo to 8 Bic lighters and an open jar of weed drying out.

IDYB hates Vancouver so much he's trying to kill himself.

vancouver is alright i just wouldnt want to live there. maybe on the north shore. then at least id be isolated from the gazillions of people and i could go snowboarding or mountain biking 24/7 but still im alot happier over here even tho the living cost is about the same. and we have better slopes and trail networks here anyways.

outside of the north shore, whistler, stanley park, and the harbor area and maybe science world there really isnt a whole lot much to see there. thats just my opinion though. im sure lots of other people and visitors would have a much better experience especially if they havent been in the region before but ive been living in the province most of my life and ive seen what there is to see and the greater vancouver region just really isnt for me.

north van is pretty much the only real attraction for me.    thats just me and my interests tho im  sure most people wouldnt have a problem finding stuff to do out there, but im real picky i guess and i already live and go to work in paradise where most people from across the world come to vacation and i dont  really plan on going anywhere else so its hard for me to see things any different.  but in all honesty vancouver is great, just try to avoid the downtown eastside up until the waterfront anyways.  ur safe as long as u mind ur own and nobody is really gonna try to **** with you but theres alot of issues going on there with drugs and homelessness, gangs as well but u really wont see any of the real gang and crime activity unless u somehow find urself in Surrey, people get shot, stabbed and even killed there every day pretty much and it never even makes the newspapers but its always gang related if youre just there looking for a cheap motel or something and ur not messing around with fronting drugs off people or selling ur dope on someone elses corner then u neednt worry  but once u make it out a few blocks away from downtown van in any direction its like u wouldnt even know u were in the "hood" anymore it changes so quickly.  some people would say the downtown eastside of vancouver could be dangerous, but its really not. most people there are too poor to start **** with anybody and all they want is their next fix and half those idiots are dying everyday from the fentanyl crisis anyways.  surrey is probably the most sketchy out of the whole greater van area , but thats only if youre gangbanging or selling dope on other peoples turf otherwise id say youre pretty safe all around. .

vancouver and its surrounding area is nice but the weather is usually always **** and rain and theres too many people. there is no such thing as peace and quiet and you cant get away from anyone anywhere.  the southern interior will always be where its at.

Some people don't like any cities, he may be one of them. Plus I think he had some bad experiences there possibly. I lived there a long time and it's a great place. Clean, safe, beautiful, cosmopolitan, multicultural, modern, lots of nature, good food, hot women, oceans and mountains, not sure what more you could ask for. Maybe a little more nightlife, things shut down a little early (2am) but that doesn't affect me any more. IDYB is right about the weather though, too much grey and wet. Having lived in a place with more or less the same temperatures than Vancouver but with way less rain it might be hard to get used to again.

ive never been one for cities. i like to get away from the crowds. ive never been much for people. but u cant get away from everyone out there. maybe in north van cause of the mountains but then u go up there and u still cant find a secluded spot because people there are still everywhere at any time of the year

Oregon has lots of outdoor stuff that are probably a lot more pleasant than the outback.

i don't live in the outback, but you're right it's not easy! I live 30 mins between two of the best wine regions in the world and 10 mins from some of the best (shark infested) beaches :)

does she now? Is she hot? lol like that matters

shes getting married this august ill probably be heading down there if i can get a few days off during busy season.  but weddings have never really been my thing, and besides we all know i'm more of a funeral guy anyways, so if i can find a good reason to not go then i'll roll with it.
