New York's attorney general is suing Donald Trump, his children and the Trump Foundation, alleging what she called "extensive and persistent violations of state and federal law".

Barbara Underwood said the foundation had engaged in "extensive unlawful political coordination" designed to influence the 2016 election.

The lawsuit seeks to dissolve the Trump Foundation, Ms Underwood said.

Also named in the suit were Mr Trump's two sons, Eric and Donald Jr.

So she's not prosecuting anybody, but instead suing?

Sounds like a ploy to me.

I think the reason is to get whatever money they figure was misused and got tax breaks on, to get what New York lost in those tax breaks, then I would assume penalties and interest. They dont give two ****s about what they accuse them of, just that they get their money.

It doesn't say any of that in the OP. Where did you come up with that?

Is this the same story that's been going on for years where Trump and family use money donated to the Trump charity (something Trump himself has not donated to since 2002 or some such thing) for their own personal and business benefits? And also for his campaign?

This is the same foundation involved in the Uranium-1 deal, and about forty billion other nefarious interactions, right???

Somebody took the time to post it on the internet. Must be true.

You are saying something on the internet, without providing any sources. Well, provide.

Yes, it's about the disgraced former AG of NY having his cronies take up the fight he was unwilling to partake in. Schneiderman researched the foundation for two years, found nothing, but still pushed his replacement to pursue it.

The real story is that Hillary and co, yet again, have clearly broken laws, but nobody cares. Here you are defending the world's most notoriously corrupt "foundation" on the planet. LOL.. Get a grip.

I never mentioned the Clinton Foundation, so how can I be defending them?

This is about the Trump Foundation. Post some sources.

You change the subject, when someone tries to point out the hypocrisy in our government. So yeah, you're defending her.

I don't care enough to inform you. Stuff to accomplish this morning. Do it yourself.

The subject is the Trump Foundation, and it is you who are trying to change the subject to the Clinton Foundation. Too funny.

Nothing will come of this. Then the same ****es who eat up the media narrative at every turn will still show up for the next fake Trump scandal.

You remember.. it's like the Russian collusion, obstruction of justice, WW3 with Russia, WW3 with North Korea, etc. They just keep pushing the fake news stories, and the idiots keep eating them up.

The subject is corrupt charities, stupid. You're just too ignorant to see the obvious media bias directly in front of your face.

You know why this idiot filed a suit against them instead of pursuing it criminally? LACK OF EVIDENCE. LMAO

The subject is the Trump Foundation, which is clear in the title.

Post some sources, and I'll read them.

There isn't a source in the OP, but you were stupid enough to bite. lol

Negative Trump stories = no source needed

Anti-corription responses = need source

I provided a source (which also provided a source), and you deflected/changed the subject to Clinton.

Provide a source and I'll be happy to read it.

Quotes from Washington Post investigation. I know Cash, you only believe Infowars and Faux News opinion pieces but the vast majority of the world still believe in the credibility of real journalistic sources.

"In a handwritten note, Trump directed that $100,000 in foundation money go to settle legal claims against Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, the lawsuit said."

"The foundation also paid $158,000 to resolve a lawsuit over a prize for a hole-in-one contest at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, New York; $10,000 to buy a 6-foot (1.8-meter) portrait of Trump at a charity auction; and $5,000 for advertisements published in the programs for charitable events. The ads promoted Trump's hotels."

"After New York's attorney general began investigating, Trump's business empire reimbursed the foundation for various payments and returned the painting to the foundation."

"Despite the prohibition on political activity, Trump's foundation cut a $25,000 check in 2013 to Republican Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi's re-election campaign, the lawsuit notes. After a watchdog group complained to the IRS in 2016, Trump reimbursed the foundation and paid a $2,500 fine."

"The foundation went on to make at least five grants of $100,000 each to Iowa groups before the caucuses, with Trump presenting giant checks at a series of campaign rallies. The checks bore Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan along with the foundation's address."

"Trump had already paid more than $330,000 in reimbursements and penalty taxes since 2016. New York state began probing the Trump Foundation in response to an investigation by The Washington Post."

And from elsewhere:

"Although Trump’s name is on the foundation, in recent years most of its money was not actually his. Trump did not give any donation to the Trump foundation between 2008 and 2015"

"In 2007, he settled a dispute with the town of Palm Beach over code violations at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club. The town agreed to waive outstanding fines if Mar-a-Lago gave $100,000 to a charity.

But the donation, to an organization called Fisher House, came instead from the foundation, Underwood said — after Trump wrote a note to Weisselberg. “Allen W, DJT Foundation, $100,000 to Fisher House (Settlement of flag issue in Palm Beach),” said the note, which is included in the lawsuit."

It's lulz when you claim another source is biased, but this one isn't You've lost the plot! Good day sir. :D

I'll be sure to revisit this thread and ask for the apology (that isn't coming) when this is proven to be gibberish.

It's amazing how CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, Wash Post, NYT, all these "news outlets" have been totally full of chit for years now, and the zombies still eat it up. Thankfully, that's not what is taking place in America. Those networks have ever-dropping ratings, and that's because people are waking up. The same ol' anonymous sources and straight fiction crap doesn't cut it anymore.

Complaining over the painting thing is dumb.  It at most is only a problem due to a technicality with potential conflicts of interest.  The painting served it's purpose.  The charity event was a success.  So the foundation ended up with a painting that it didn't know what to do with.  Makes sense to house it at a Trump facility that partners with the charity.  It isn't a Picasso or anything.  It's a freaking painting of Trump.  If it were a painting of something else, and worth a lot, then maybe it would be a bigger deal.  Again, it's a freaking painting of Trump.  Nobody is going to buy that ****.

Same thing with the charity event lawsuit.  It makes more sense than not, that the charity pay for the screw up on the event.  That's common sense.  Was it handled wrong?  Maybe, but really its nothing that should bother anyone.  There was no harm done with that payment.  The only person who was wronged, was the person who didn't get his prize, and that's pretty jacked and a reason Trump's company can go to hell.  That, though, is a separate issue.

So now you have like a $7 payment to the boy scouts and maybe a couple thousand elsewhere.  Yeah, that's wrong, but it's Mickey Mouse stuff, really.  Nothing to REEEEEEEEEEEEEE about.

Many of the complaints are nothing more than an attack on Trump for the sake of attacking Trump.  If people weren't trying every method possible to hurt him, it wouldn't even be an issue.

I don't really care if Trumps charity goes down.  I might even enjoy seeing that happen.  I just get bothered by friends and **** who go into snowflake mode over completely moronic ****.  That's what really triggers me.

Yes, and to settle the many many lawsuits against them.
