lol welcome to 2015 in America. I don't know how you guys fell behind on this one.

really bro? in states like oklahoma u can still go to federal prison for 2-10 years and get a $5000 fine just for hooking your buddy up with a gram of weed.  Double that if its the second time you're caught.   If they catch you with a joint, thats up to a year and jail or a $10,000 fine. If u get caught there with a doobie a second time, thats 2-10 years or a $25,000 fine. Though they get off pretty light. IMO they should all get the electric chair. Welcome to America

let me know when you guys catch up to us. u guys have what? 2 or 3 states that finally decided to end prohibition. we have an entire country.  for now keep studying those tapes of reefer madness.  and yeah keep thinking the mexicans are the devil, because that's why this chit became illegal in the first place.   now its only still illegal so that the pharamaceutical companies can cash in big off of killing people

Yeah I'm trying to figure out what he meant.

Minus a few states, it's still illegal federally and one snap of the fingers from Sessions and it can all fall apart.

Add in our completely illegal pot shops that run now and the cops don't touch, or the fact that cops at best take the weed and let you go. There has basically been recreational use without fear for a long ****ing time.

Yup. There are a few provinces that dont want to allow private growing at home, but as the law states now, even that is legal come oct 17th

Hopefully the US takes note. I will praise the heavens the day weed goes federal here. Its probably my only hope to be able to smoke again.

Quebec and Manitoba want to ban home growers.

Senate agreed with them but the law passed not allowing provinces the ability to ban.

But both said they will ban hole growing and will fight it in court. I assume they will lose, you can make booze at home and grow tobacco, don't see how weed will swing the courts opinion to start a ban.

"U.S. immigration lawyers are already warning Canadians that they could be denied entry to the U.S. — or barred from the United States for life — if they admit to smoking cannabis to a border agent."

Fun.

Ha!

Canadian border agents detained me for four hours, searched my car top to bottom, bounced a dog off of me, ran it through my car, stripped me naked, went through my clothes, went through my emails, asked for social media passwords, checked texts in my phone, called my girlfriend to verify my trip, and gave me an exit visa that had to be certified upon leaving...... all because they said they fought specks of weed dust in a cupholder of my car.

So I guess you guys can join the club then?

I guess. Meh, I've never touched the stuff and never will, so it shouldn't make any difference to me.

From later in the same article, it sounds like the US border patrol actually isn't changing anything in terms of how they operate... It's just that they figure it's going to be a bigger issue for people now because they expect Canadians to be more open about their use, figuring that it's ok since it's legal in Canada, not realizing that what is or isn't legal in Canada doesn't mean **** when you're trying to enter the US.

I thought it was just going to be my province that lagged behind since they JUST advertised the pot store positions here. No way they'd ever have people hired and ready for July with the snail pace of our PSC. Makes sense now.

Nevertheless, Trudeau can gag on it.

ffs cant be August 25th when im there?!

Trust me. Dont bring it in the airport, dont flip the cops off while you smoke it, dont blow it in some old grannies face, and dont carry too much and you will not have an issue prior to the legalization.

There are literally illegal pot shops selling weed and the cops have only sent them stern letters saying they are breaking the law. One got raided and a week later was back up and running and then they got their stern letter.

You can burn your house down making liquor, or die from consuming too much of it... but you damn sure better not be growing a plant at your house!

aint that the truth.

its just a money grab and a publicity stunt to try to regain trudeaus approval for the next election.  they want to control everything and still throw people in jail over weed even though they call it legalization.

if i hand a kid a pinecone i wont go to jail if i get caught.  but if i hand him a little bit of bud i could under these new laws.  even though they call it legalization, but how is it really legalization if theyre still locking people up over it, creating all these new regulations, hiring more police and people to enforce it, and they want to be the only ones that can grow and distribute it?    the whole purpose should be to make it legal so they dont have to keep putting people behind bars and we can free up funds to use for better purposes.

its not really the type of legalization that we deserve.   but man they must have got pissed when there whole clauses for province independant growing regulations/restrictions got tossed out of the bill. theres a bunch of provinces that were hellbent on trying to monopolize it so they can rake in all the money.  and then youll have "legal" pot which is grown and sold by the government, and then  "illegal" pot which is grown from other suppliers and you could still probably get charged and arrested over.

even in the new bill they mention "legal pot"  all over the place,  like you can carry up to an ounce of "legal pot" or you can share "legal pot" with your friend whos of age, and all this stuff so its totally f*cking stupid. like whats the difference between "legal pot" and what isn't "legal pot"?  just because person x grew it or sold you it instead of person y?   thats ridiculous.

but i guess i could always just store all my weed in bags from a pot shop and not have to worry about being arrested.  not like theyll even bother in this province as it has already been all but officially decriminilized for quite some time, youd have to be extremely unlucky or a massive dealer or grower just to see any jail time at all from weed. its pretty much decriminilized here and has been for decades and police dont usually ever waste their time over weed, but other provinces dont seem to see it the same way

im sure that other provinces will be spending a tonne of our tax dollars to try to fight this and ban public growing altogether, because they wont be able to have a stranglehold on the market and gauge prices and put whatever weird and potentially harmful addictive chemicals and additives into their weed and turn a profit if other people and businesses can just grow it themselves

its a mess.  i cant even really call it legalization, i call it governization. or government regulation, but at least its a step in the right direction towards actually being legal.

and lastly all the pharmaceutical companies are finna be pissed. they dump so much money on politicians and political campaigns so that they can keep on getting away with murder by the masses and run their slimy operation.

theyre not going to like it if johnny potsmoker was allowed to grow a couple of plants and decides to treat his anxiety, depression, or cancer by smoking weed rather than getting hooked on all their expensive pills.   yeah i can see why they spend so much money and effort trying to fight this from ever happening throughout all the years

i wonder what the deal is with hemp though?  i havent even looked into it. last i checked  that chit is still illegal because a bunch of plastic industries got pissed off that they were losing money and then the government made it illegal to grow hemp. like wtf?

but theres so many benefits that come from it. the only reason its still illegal in the 20th century is because of politics and its cutting into the profits of huge greedy business empires. its not because of safety thats for damn sure.   whens the last time someone overdosed off of weed? whens the last time someone left a bar after only smoking a joint, came home and beat their wife?   how many traffic accidents can be directly related to weed?  how many people are so high off of weed that they decide to go commit a violent crime just to fuel their cravings for more doritos?

thats all complete nonsense, but they use that as fear mongering and excuses to go against legalizing it, simply because of politics and money.

but like i said, the politicians and big brand corporations will still be fighting this, especially the growing aspect of it, simply because it cuts into their profits and all the executives at the top who are already filthy rich are going to be pissed that they might not be able to get another bugatti next year to go alongside their fleet of lambo's, ferrari's, mclarens, and have them nicely parked behind their guest house right in front of their fancy yachts. of course theyll throw out every other excuse or scare tactic they can before they ever be upfront about why they really dont want it legal and why they are still choosing to fight it

its 2018 and we're still dealing with this reefer madness chit.  i smoke weed everyday and it doesnt make me any more retarded or unhealthy than i already am. so i dont see the harm in it.  neither does anybody else.  they only see the dollar signs.   even with this new "legalization" thing, its still only about the almighty dollar.  its not about freeing the tax dollars and prison systems, or allowing people to treat their issues without having to swallow a handful harmful addictive and potentially fatal prescription pills multiple times a day, every single day or anything like that. its about the potential money that these people can stuff into their own pockets.

thats why its still illegal. not just in canada but all over the world.  its simply because of political corruption and greed.  there is no other valid reason why johnny potsmoker could get locked up over a little bit of weed.

thats my whole long rant on the matter. its fooking stupid the way theyre going about it but at least its a start

i went full stompgrind didnt i??

cant help it. its a sensitive issue to me and it kinda rustles my jimmies the way they are going about legislating it and actually calling it legalization.

trudeau is a piece of chit just like his father and there is not a car fire in hell hot enough for him to crawl into.

I hear ya, man.

Next week, I'm driving from Denver to Vegas to San Diego. All "legal" states. However, if I were to take weed from Colorado to Nevada, they would body me for transporting drugs across state lines. lol

thats rough, and technically under federal law its still illegal even in the legal states so if the feds really wanted to come down on you and even all the dispensaries, they probably could. thats some bull chit right there

but still rustles me up that in november if i get caught smoking a joint at a park or something i could still potentially face a fine or even jail time, just like i could today.  even though in this province they dont seem to care about it. the only times ive ever been popped for weed theyve either taken away my bag and told me to go home, or theyve dumped it into a river, never been fined or anything, but if the cops want to be an **** im sure they could ticket or arrest me over it.

i probably wouldnt want to be caught with it in some states and provinces.  but i guess it all depends on the cops and their attitudes towards it as well as the location.  im sure in some places in the states if i was black and they caught me lighting up they might even come at me with nightsticks or have guns drawn on me or some crazy chit

this chit needs to be legal.   like actually legal. theres no reason why a responsible pot smoker should be thrown in jail next to murderers, rapists, and child molesters.  this isnt the early 1900's anymore where we're watching footage of reefer madness and associating a plant directly with mexican criminals and believing that one hit off the joint will fry our minds and make us go on a murder spree or some chit

but i doubt ill ever see the day where i'll ever see it actually become legal,. so long as corruption and greed roams everywhere in the political system

Don't be so sure. We elected a guy who hates the pharmaceutical industry, and the cartels. The perfect way to give both of them the finger is to legalize marijuana.

Our Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, has a very antiquated view on the topic, but he's been on the verge of getting fired for about a year now. I foresee him potentially being replaced at some point, and I think that would be when Trump would act on it.

Let people take what they want to take. This includes heroin, coke, meth, pot, pills, etc. Its their body. The only stipulation to this is that no tax dollars will go to.find your problem, that includes alcoholics too.

If you want to kill yourself, that's your right and no ones right to say otherwise, as long as it doesnt infringe on my rights nor my money.

you'd have to be quite a prick to try and shove it in an officers face that youre high

you're high no one cares

if you make a big deal about it you should get 2 life sentences, if they ask you if you're high that's a different story

What about an excess of burgers leading to heart failure? Should they be denied access to health care because it is self inflicted?? And have you been equally opposed to cigarette smokers using up health care dollars all along?  This is a serious question.

Of course. But comparing something that you choose to initiate and one that you dont control to initiate is asinine. No one chooses to have an eating disorder. People CHOOSE to start drinking, doing drugs, or smoking cigarettes. One is a voluntary introduction to an addiction and the other isnt.

It's common sense.
