Megasoup
I just cracked the spine on a novel by Upton Sinclair which I hadn't read before. Almost everything by this author is out of print. The book he is most famous for is The Jungle, which he wrote when he was in his 20s. Surely it's an important book, but he was a very young man and not nearly as seasoned as the man which she wrote when he was in his 20s. Surely it was an important book, but he was not yet the man he came to be later in life. He became a much better author and he tackled some very important things and address them in a much clearer and, if I dare say it, how much more entertaining way. He wrote better books. Every novel I have read by Upton Sinclair was far superior than his most famous. Off the top of my head, I couldn't say how many novelists I had followed, those of whom I have read at least more than a couple books n a few of their books. But I can immediately say which are my top four favorite authors of my adulthood. And while Sinclair didn't quite have a way with words as did Steinback, his works probably have had a greater impact on my thinking than any other author. The book that I started reading today is called The Flivver King. It's about the unionization of Ford Motor Company.
