There is a youtube series where a dude compares 40K to other sci fi franchises and Warhammer always wins, because its meant to be so over the top. Interesting tho

Yeah 40K is very popular. Games Workshop ( < company that created the setting ) really pushed it much more than the Fantasy side because it was more popular and sold better.

I never got into 40K so i know little about it other than it's sort of the parallel future version of the fantasy setting. I know a lot about the fantasy setting & love the story, characters, and setting. Would love for them to make a movie about it. A lot of the ideas, races are not all that original but a lot of it is a different take on history and mythological tales told throughout history all mashed together.

I like that it's grim, dark, gritty, over the top and full of humor more than other settings. The realm of Chaos in particular with the four chaos gods and the concept of being this alternate psychic reality like a sort of mirror consciousness realm not bound by laws of matter and physics and feeding off the thoughts/emotions of the Warhammer world manifesting in both realms is an interesting concept. The descriptions of the "Warp" as the realm of Chaos is called is a truly horrific, bizarre and fascinating place. The writers were clearly taking their DMT, acid, mushrooms etc. when writing about it.

I love ancient history and old myth tales and I'm pretty fascinated in general with the idea of duality, yin/yang and the possibility of an infinite collective consciousness realm outside of the natural physical universe or what we perceive as reality in this 3D hologram we live in.
