*Rumor* UFC working on GSP vs Anderson Silva at catchweight of 178 or 180 lbs

2011 was the year it should have happened, Silva had just hit one of the best ko's ever against Belfort and GSP had been backpacking everyone in his division.

Its going to be a sad shadow of the spectacle it could have been if they had done this while both men were in there prime.

I can't stand either of those fighters, I could give two chits.

Yes you would because you would be witnessing a historic match up. We could even put a Cheatie Alvarez fight on after to ensure you stay sober enough to appreciate and remember this history in the making.

pacman vs floyd happened like 5 years too late and it was still one of the top grossing fight headliners

i think gsp vs silva would do just fine.   even though it would have been better to happen 5 years ago when nobody knew that anderson silva is a filthy mouth breathing steroid abuser.

and even then, i dont think it would sell nearly as much as it would have 5 years ago, even if the fighters were at the same point in their careers as they are today, because the ufc interest and viewership is dieing,  ever since the new owners took over and are roflstomping it into the ground by turning it into the conor mcgregor and brock lesnar show and putting on circus fights and celebrity sideshows rather than fights that make any actual sense. not to mention the high price of watered down pay per views, stuck in between all these tomato can fight cards every other weekend, and all the main headline fights get called off in the last week or even the last day or two because of weight cutting cans and people getting sand in their vaginas.

it just kills the interest.  you cant even book a quality card anymore, especially with two title fights, because you already know damn well one of the guys in a title fight is going to pull out or miss weight, and 3 or 4 more guys are going to pull out at the last minute, . so its hard to even get excited for the rare cards that do look good on paper.  ufc 217 was like the last big card that didnt completely go to chit before it could even take place. and it was like the only stacked card in all of 2017.

and to top it all off, as soon as a fighter wins a belt these days, they dont even want to defend it. they go on like a 1-2 year hiatus on the couch, or move up a weight class, or in one guys case, stays in the same washed out division hes already cleaned out, and refusing to move up just so he can fight other weight cutting tomato cans and have pointless rematches in fights he knows he would win, all while ducking guys like cruz or tj or even cody who could actually have a chance of beating him

and lastly, wimmens mma.  man what a joke those divisions have all become. get rid of them, or at least put the fights all on the early prelims.  nobody wants to see a card full of womens strawweight and featherweight bouts. all they all do is point fight.

its not what it used to be

GSP just had one of his most impressive performences in years, I think he blankets him tho TBH

naw.  GSP version 3.0 is a proven finisher.  If he could ktfo the middleweight champion and continue to choke away on him until big john stepped in in a desperate attempt to save his life, just think of what he would do to a guy like anderson silva, who bisping already made short work of.

mma math doesnt lie. this might very well be the first recorded death inside of the ufc octagon. hopefully anderson silva will write up his will before the event.
