only because i like you stehilton

Nate Diaz will return to the UFC octagon after more than a two-year absence Nov. 3 at Madison Square Garden for an expected firefight of a stand-up bout against destructive puncher Dustin Poirier, the Los Angeles Times learned Thursday.

The lightweight bout will serve as the co-main event at UFC 230.

Stockton’s Diaz (20-11) has participated in the main event of two of the most lucrative UFC pay-per-view cards in history, first by taking a March 2016 fight against Conor McGregor on less than two weeks’ notice to submit him in the second round.

Then, after Diaz and his fighter brother, Nick, engaged McGregor in a bottle-and-can throwing exchange during a pre-fight news conference, he lost to McGregor by decision in one of the most thrilling bouts in the organization’s history.

The asterisk to that was that the jujitsu-schooled, boxing-trained Diaz basked in the riches of the pay-per-view dollars, opting to remain sidelined until another fight capable of generating a massive purse emerged.

He balked at participating in Saturday’s UFC 227 at Staples Center against former two-division champion Georges St-Pierre, with a representative saying Diaz felt that St-Pierre was his brother’s rival, and then St-Pierre fell ill.

Now, Diaz, 33, returns on the third version of an MSG November card that has also performed well in pay-per-view sales dating to McGregor’s 2016 knockout of Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight belt and last year’s show headlined by St-Pierre’s comeback and stoppage of then-middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

Louisiana’s Poirier (24-5) has risen to No. 3 in the UFC lightweight rankings by winning eight of his last 10 bouts. One was a no-contest last year that Poirier answered Saturday by knocking out Alvarez in the second round of the UFC Fight Night event in Calgary.

Poirier has won three fight-of-the-night bonuses and a performance-of-the-night bonus in his last four fights, which have included knockouts of hyped prospect Justin Gaethje and former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.

The card will also include a rematch between former middleweight champions Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold.

In December 2015, Rockhold (16-4) defeated New York’s Weidman (14-3) by fourth-round technical knockout to capture the middleweight belt in Las Vegas.

The fights will be formally announced Friday at a UFC seasonal news conference at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. Free tickets can be acquired at Ticketmaster.com.

HAHAHAHAAHA

All of that time on the shelf, pining for McGregor and you get Poirier in a CO-MAIN slot.

He'll probably make like $250k lololol

Yeah what an idiot.  Fighting in a co-main for a quarter million... who is this guy's manager?!

Dana is praying Conor will beat Khabib and Nate beats Poirier so there's a 3rd Diaz fight for stakes that actually matter.

Khabib is going to kill Conor and Poirier easily beats Nate.  He's so drawn out at lightweight he might get knocked out.

No he's an idiot fighting in the co-main event for 250 thousand dollars (Sober has insider info on Nate's paycheck from being a forum moderator)

We have no idea how much money he is getting yet, I don't buy that, but the PPV points will be worth a lot.

Mormont... Sober has spoken.  He's a moderator and he knows EXACTLY or roughly what Nate Diaz is getting paid.

I can't believe this chump is willing to fight in a co-main... it's beneath him.  He should make 80 million dollars and only accept fights with Conor McGregor... repeatedly.  You know... the same idiot that also hasn't fought in 2 years.

Combo breaker before Clegg goes threef.

What are your thoughts on Nate Diaz being a moron and fighting for 250 grand when less than 3 years ago he got paid this?

The Diamond is gonna wreck his chit and Diaz will be lucky to get work being a ring card holder in Invicta.

He's still better than McCuckold though so I guess there's that.

Got to agree taking two years out then returning against Dustin doesn't sound right if Nate's after big money fights.

I like Dustin in this fight just because he's been more active and I don't see him getting as tired as McGregor did against Nate so can't see Nate getting much of a chance to overwhelm him.

I can't tell if you're trolling or not, but I got a good belly laugh out of it either way.

Nate Diaz doesn't get PPV points. lol.. He's back on that 20K to show plan.

He IS a ****ing idiot, that is indisputable.  Quarter mil for a guy who last fought in the main event of the highest selling UFC PPV of all time would be lol as ****.  He probably still thinks he's the A-side

Honestly what kind of a moron would even consider fighting in the co-main event of a UFC PPV?  And for 250 grand?  I wipe my **** with that on a monthly basis...

I wouldn't even bother getting out of bed for 250 grand.  That's chump change for a human cawk fighter.  Nate probably has to sell weed just to meet the bills.

Holy **** guy.  You're so triggered you made FIVE more posts about this?  Guess my post hit it's mark.  Did you not see the word "PROBABLY" in my original post you intoxicated fuϲk?
