Rafael Dos Anjos got a big win on Saturday!

After two losses in a row in his last two fights at Welterweight another one here especially against someone like Lee who is tipped as one for the future  then it could have ended his hopes of another shot at claiming UFC gold again. Fortunately for Dos Anjos he got the job done and from his post fight speech it sounds like he's still very interested in establishing himself as the number one contender and attempting to become a two weight champion.

Now 1-2 in his last 3 and 4-2 overall at Welterweight I can't see RDA being next for a title shot, he can however look to establish himself as the number one contender and how better to do that than getting another big win.

So lets take a look at who I think are the main options for who should be RDA's next opponent.

1st Choice.Santiago Ponzinibbio

The Argentinean has been due a big fight for a while now riding a 7 fight win streak (including 4 finishes) and undefeated since mid 2015 Boa has worked his way up the ranks and after picking up wins against the fringes of the top 15 like Nelson & Magny looks to be ready to step up in competition again.

2nd Choice. Leon Edwards

Another man riding a 7 fight win streak Edwards doesn't quite get the top spot simply due to the fact that he's only had 2 finishes on his win streak and that although his last win was a big one it wasn't a stoppage or a dominating performance so I would be surprised if he gets such a big jump in competition especially since Edwards seemed to be keen on a fight with Till.

3rd Choice.Stephen Thompson

Wonderboy has had a bad last few years, since his first fight with Woodley he has went just 1-3-1 but he's still one of the biggest names in the division and he is still ranked in the top 10. While I agree a win over him doesn't have the same value it once did he's still a former two time world title challenger.

4th Choice.Darren Till

And finally last choice is Till who quite frankly with the current state of UFC matchmaking i wouldn't be surprised if they did make that fight especially if they had a card in England coming up they needed to fill. Two consecutive losses (even if one was to the champ) usually mean a step back in competition though so I doubt they do give him someone in the top 10 for his next fight.

Who Do You Think?

I think RDA vs Ponz is a good one for both guys at this moment.

It should be in Argentina or Brazil and use that 'soccer rivalry' as part of the promotion lol

RDA should go to Bellator to piss the USADA nerds off

He can go Full Dillashaw in Bellator, and still get pied by half the dudes in the WW tournament.

RDA vs Ponz would be nice.  Not sure WW lee is a big win though,  gassing when you move up a division is a pretty good sign that you're actually a can that relied purely on your size advantage rather than your fighting ability.  Plus RDA is a LW that went up lol

You really are an idiot and unfortunately you aren't the only one.  Why does no one say Masvidal is a LW but RDA, Pettis and like 200 pound Nate Diaz get tossed into that conversation?  Pettis was just asked what he weighed before he starts this camp for Diaz and he said near 190 pounds.  The weight was a wash against Steve he's a 32 year old man now.  Of course a skinny fat Mexican like Nate isn't trying to cut 40 pounds.  Leave that to fake rednecks that can't box like Plank Cerrone.
