Should Chimaev Just Move to MW ?

His fight upcoming fight with Nate became totally meaningless at this point.

His best beat would be if either Usman or Leon pull out from the trilogy and he steps in because otherwise he will need to either fight someone or simply sit and be inactive.

Could or should he just go up and challenge Izzy vs Pereira winner then ?

He actually could totally dominate the MW top names considering the lack of wrestling from guys like Whittaker, Izzy, Pereira, etc

Could that be something that we are all missing and that might be one idea baldy might have in mind already as a plan B ?

I'd like to see him fight Vetorri at MW. I think that would be a good test of his grappling and wrestling and if he can throw him around no problem then he could be successful.

I'm a huge Khazmat fan but I want to see him face more adversity like he did against Burns. I want to see if his spirit will break in a five rounder against a high level opponent.

Whittaker has some wrestling especially for a Kiwi.  Pereira doesn't have a ground game though.  At this point Israel should probably wrestle to avoid getting knocked out again.

You're right though.  With a Edwards/Usman trilogy not happening until I think February he would have to sit out a year.  I worry about Khamzat's composure.  I just watch him vs Burns last night and he wings these extremely sloppy right hooks.  Just loads up and misses against a dude my height.  Khamzat got tuned up in that 2nd round.  Pereira lands that clean it's over.  He rehydrates to what light heavies get back up to for fight night.  Was 219 last time he stepped in the cage and weighed in 184.  I'm sure his kidneys love that ****.

As long as he stays away from Whittaker. His kingdom will be MW, Shavkat has WW as his own realm and we keep them apart as long as possible

Nobody still talking about Shavkat

Good recall mate

You know how much I respect your boys but Chimaev beats Whittaker m8

Time will tell but Rob is a significantly better striker and has elite defensive wrestling which imo will be Khamzat's kryptonite

@I_Take_Roids_m8 and myself have been preaching he's the better version.  His control style posture up GnP is unique and extremely effective.  His boxing is tighter and he's calm and calculated.  Khamzat fights a real WW or MW like he fought Burns and he's gonna get ****ed up.

Robert would clean his clock if he started winging those wild **** right hooks.

My same thoughts on Shavkat

He seems more solid overall

I cant wait to see him facing the top of the division

He's not doing himself any favors for promotion by not speaking any English.

Wonderbread ducked him openly.  lol Stephen said he wants a striker after 2 grapplers in row.  Proceeds to ask for time to work on his craft.  He's 39 and asking for time to learn how to wrestle all while asking to train for a striker.
