good thread' date=' let's make it world history rather than just American though. Answer, probably some Canadian in 1812, we did win that war too. Canada 1, USA 0[/quote']

it is world history i was just picking an easier question to start...

the answer is Robert E. Lee he lead 79,000 troops from the Confederate States of America into the United States of America

'

next question... this one is going to be hard... What "General" won a battle that was so overpowering it created the term "Military Annihilation"

hint: in the battle the winning side had a kill ratio of 10 to 1 and they fought hand to hand, meaning no guns or explosives.

and the answer is not on wikipedia

Pyrrhus of Epirus?

nope.... it was Hannibal at the battle of Lake Trasimene his army killed 15,000 Romans while only losing 1500 men... it was the battle that defined the term "Military Annihilation" because his force annihilated the other force with almost no loss

I said Hannibal. And he did lose a battle to the Romans. Scipio defeated him at the final battle of the Second Punic War at Zama.
