British show the americans what MMA is all about.

Recommended Posts

This thread claims British are teaching Americans about MMA

Yeah thats wrong.

But we aint as backward as you seem to think we are. We live in houses too and have cars (mostly Jap and American I will admit).

But then again you do use our language....

Yeah' date=' Lennie McLean won erm.. pretty much everything in his day (Bare knuckle)

Stuart Hurst was an MMA fighter but his main victory was 3 cities Muay Thai comp in Thailand. First westerner to win. The guy he fought in the final had killed 2 in the ring.

Mike will do

I won a few in Thailand 10 years ago.

And I was takin the p!ss with Shamrock.

Bout you mate?[/quote']

Thanks for the info. I don't follow Muay Thai other than how it relates to modernized MMA. I have watched some seedy fight on late night with 100 lb kids and ring bells but thats about it.

Mike is getting beat in two weeks...sig bet?

Thank god about Shamrock.

I wrestled for 14 years, 1 year in NCAA DIV I

10 years of Freestyle and Greco Roman

Some Sambo skills

and used to throw down a bit before my wife straightened me out :o

Yeah same problem. Women are the root of all evil, and kids.

I started to think about trying to stay alive longer when son was born, so that put an end to that as a career!

Now I just teach.

Lol at the forefront of MMA. Get realistic' date=' you just got suckered into being a diehard fan by business marketing. The UK doesnt even have half the fight camps the USA does. You are a victim of marketing fabrication. If you really believe those US fighters were not fabrications put together to fight sleeper veteran UK fighters than go back and review the records and background of both sides. Youll be surprised to see what happens when you total the records per team and also the extensive background.

GJ you are officially a tool[/quote']

Is suckered the excuse you americans afre using now, I mean at the start it was wow these guys are going to get battered they are good but we are better look our guys are bigger faster stronger we are going to destroy them. Then at the end it is the brits got suckered by marketing huh pass me another root beer pa.

Dont make me laugh it had nowt to do with being suckered, the fact of the matter is you got beat fair and square now sort your head out

Again, I do not think you were even on here when this season started. The majority of people on this site, from both sides, thought the UK would do very well, and would win. Most people from the US were upset from day one with the talent from the US team. You seem to lack class, for sure. Glad that the fighters on the UK team all seemed to have a lot of it.

I completely disagree that the UK is at the forefront of MMA at the moment, but I don't see what you were getting at with the point i've quoted. The US fighters were more experienced than the UK in terms of fights had and won.

Ironically James and Ross on paper had 2 of the worst records on the UK team. Like I said the UK wins have been overhyped and we are still a long way off with producing the talent that other countries do, but come on, at least give the guys some credit.

I don't want to start another "Fantasy Fight" thread, so can I state here that G_Row vs Mtag56 is the fight we all want to see. I see G_Row winning by tapout due to Mtag being barred from the forums.

I will not ban him unless he really crosses the line. Now that I say that, maybe he will, but so be it. He seems to enjoy arguing for the sake of argument.

Same!

Ross, Winner, and Faulkner all stood out in the first episode for me

Wilks and Lawson did as well

I liked Lawson. Shame he couldn't train properly though. I know the season is over but I have to ask, how did Santino and Cameron not get stopped in their prelims, both were taking brutal GNP and just covering up, not defending themselves.

I see a NO CONTEST actually since one will show up overweight and test positive for idiot pills

G will most likely be overweight, but I wouldn't have said that he will test positive for idiot pills, he would test positive for viagra (he is a horny old man) please don't ask me how I know that, that was a bad night.

Yeah, I know but Dana White said in his fight recap that Dollar got pounded, and he wouldn't lie to us, his faithful disciples, would he? My faith in humanity is tapping out right now. Seriously though, Santino got a pounding and struggled to get up.

I have no interest in egging you on. For once im going to agree with you I completley agree Ross did very well, so did Winner. I was slightly disapointed with Demarquez as I actually had him down to win and feel he did not live up to his potential on the night. That being said I do not see any reason as to why he will not get further action in the octagon.

2ndly the biggest anticpated fight in UFC Fourmn history between myself and G_row may end up in a tapout due to a ban but like any good fighter I will just come back. You could say it could be like that WWE crap I will just re-invent myself under another name et..... But seriously if I took my passion little to far i apologise. (NO this is not an indication of weakness) As one of my fav british fighters would say DO NOT TAKE MY POLITNESS AS A WEAKNESS.

Anyways Ross was defo the best fighter on tuf 9 that was obvious from the start I think he impressed alot of people. To be nicknamed the little wanderlai Silva is an honour if you ask me

I am not taking anything as weakness. And stop with the banning talk. You would have to really cross the line for that. I do not ban lightly. Our whole thing really started by fault of mine with the misquote.

And, just to be a smart@ss, we can ban ip's...lol But, you may know a way around that also. haha

The TUF 9 was an easy road for the UK. The USA team was terrible. The bottom of the barrel choices for a team. I can say the the USA had so many new prospect for the show that were better than the actuals that came to the house. I go to the local ATT in Boca Raton,FL and could have picked much better fighters with talent than those chosen.

The road was too easy for the UK. One guy quit, and he was really the only guy with good skills on paper, and some decent experience. Then the Uk fought 2 free wins from Frankie, Who is probably the worst fighter of allTUF shows-that was fighting for a final's spot..

But there was an open tryout, then they had to fight to get in the house. Kinda like, the UFC can't help who shows up for that.

Lets all stand up and give the brits a round of applause. Throughout the ultimate fighter 9 the Americans spent to much time boasting and bragging about what they where going to do to the brits and less actual showing what they where going to do.

We enter the final and throughout the night including the pre-lims the british dominate the americans time after time after time. Wilks destroyed the Glass Jaw Demarquez (who realisticly was lucky to be in the final) Nick in the prelims destroyed his apponent.

The lets cast our mind back 1 week in Germany' date=' how many times did the brits beat the americans (was it every fight)

You gota hand it to us we know how to fight and our team moral and never say die attitude showed the world of MMA that we are at the forefront. Its a matter of time before we have british UFC Champ.

Well done lads[/quote']

Simply put we Kicked the living **** out of the yank team, and they`ll all moan about it for as long as they can, making excuses about every little thing they can think of, i respect any fighter no matter where they were born or where they come from including america where alot of my favourite fighters are based, but i`m proud to be british and i`m proud of team uk, my message to the bitter ones is this " IF YOU WANT MMA TO GAIN WIDESPREAD RECOGNITION AND YOU WANT YOUR FIGHTERS TO BE RECOGNISED OUTSIDE OF YOUR OWN COUNTRY THEN YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT NOW AND AGAIN PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE YOUR COUNTRY WILL SIMPLY BE BETTER THAN YOU !! LIVE WITH IT "

that sound you hear is defeat beating on your ****, shut the hell up, you are talking absolute bollocks, the usa team went through the same trials as the uk team so apparently it was you best prospects that made it into the house, i bet you dont moan about the talent pool during american dominated tuf shows of the past, the fact that you got your asses kicked is the only reason you are moaning and speaking complete ****.

We kicked their backsides all right. Heading into the semis with 4 fighters left from each team, that showed them. Just to give a new slant to this whole "Americans hate us" nonsense, in Bispings first fight after TUF3, the live american audience went wild for Bisping, and gave Eric Schaefer a muted reception. Therefore I hearby declare, AMERICANS DO NOT, IN GENERAL, HATE US!!

LOL... its like having a highschool soccer team represent the US in the world cup or something. Those kids were armatures, well comparatively speaking. I think that the brits had a better team, overall where is the most talent? Probably the US... why? Because there are almost 400 million of us, I'm pretty sure UK's pop is around 60 million.. The odds of us coming up with more fit athletes are more likely simply because of numbers..

India has as many geniuses in their country as we have PEOPLE in ours...

And now they get to run into the top talent the US has to offer in the LW and WW Div. (more in the LW lol) So lets not get TOO ****Y yet ok? :)[/quote']

i couldnt agree with you more, but if uk mma is at this standard now, were they dominate the 'better trained americans' then how far will they come along in the next few years now they will have the chance to train at 'proper gyms' (haha)

And the yanks werent substandard fighters they all went through the same process to get there!!! and i doubt dana and co would sacrifice putting on a decent show and give away 2 six figure contracts just to get more viewers from such a primative little island like ours

you also have a good chance of coming up with over rated self believing non starters...

an american goes to australia to see the outback, whilst on a tour he asks the ''how many people in yer country''

the aussie replies ''10 million or so mate'', yank says ''10mil back home we have 200 million''

then he asks ''how large is your property pal''

the aussie thinks for second then say ''well mines quite small but, fred my neighbour has about 25 million acres'' yank says ''is that all, my front lawn is bigger than that without the drive and pool''

at this a kangaroo hops past and the startled yank asks '' what in the hell was that''

the by now very annoyed aussie replies ''bloody grasshoppers''

wow' date=' its like when you have a foot race with alittle kid and let them win. and this guy is really into it lol. just so you know dana white is on a huge push to move the ufc into different countrys. he claims mma will be the most popular sport in the world in 10 years. england is an untapped market. so dana puts a group of sub par americans in to fight englands best. think im a liar? check out the usa guys records. having an 18-9 record or a 2-2 record doesnt exactly make you the cream of the crop. but in the end dana will choose money over pride every time. and in ufc 99 i cant help but think your talkin about hardy. he has been gettin pretty easy fights and doesnt really have much to gloat about. kos, serra, hughs, fitch, penn,st pierre. he couldnt fight with any of them. notice hardy is following the same path as bisping. stay away from the top rung american guys so they dont get ko'd and the britts lose thier hero.[/quote']

sore, sore, sore ........loser!

read your own comments back to yourself, look in the mirror, have a serious word with yourself and then a pint of bitter !! there are other good fighters in the world other than americans you know, proof of that is the fact that you always cry for the help of the british army, we`ve been bailing you out for years.
