Dana and the UFC are going to do what they think is right but I think the winner of Nate Marquardt and Demian Maia should fight Dan Henderson for the number one contender. I mean I even think it would be interesting to see the winner of Demian Maia/Nate Marquardt fight Dan Henderson for the interim title and then whoever wins the interim title fights Anderson for the title.

Even though I would like to see Hendo v Silva II.... Silva only has 3 more matches left.

I don't think those matches should be wasted at middleweight.

Dana should force him to fight Machida... the guy is signed to a contract.. surely Dana can make it happen. Machida V Silva is a fight everyone wants to see. If Silva retires after beating Hendo twice and having 2 other middleweight fights, we as fans would have lost out big time.

Not sure why Silva's camp is scared of Hendo. The 'he' doens't deserve a shot is BS. He is the most deserving MW out there. Silva's camp doesn't call the shots. The UFC needs to keep a carrot out in front of him after the last 3 fights of his current contract. Give him Hendo, winner of Nate/Maia then the #2 or 3 contender in the LHW. Winner gets the champ, but he would have to resign to get that fight for the LHW belt. That would be a good business move for the UFC.

He allready has lol

I know he won the first match, but Hendo won the first round. Silva was winning the second round, but nothing like he has done to everyone else. Next fight will be a different fight and if Silva enters the octagon with the same attitude as his trainer is suggesting that Hendo has no chance, he will be surprised. Like I said Silva's 'B' game will not be good enough to beat Hendo again.

Hendo will be competitve with Silva and in the end probably lose. Any argument that he wouldn't be is idiotic as he was competitve in the first fight. Yes he lost. But it would be a nice rematch to watch. I don't think Hendo will win but he's earned the shot if he wants it.

those of you who know me, know that im not an anderson silva fan, but i do not deny his worth.

the only person i see beating anderson silva right now, has one hell of a chin, who is EXPLOSIVE with the shoot, has great wrestling and "AWESOME" bjj, oh yeah did i mention he had one hell of a chin?!

right now i dont think this person exists yet. i would love to see hendo whoop him it is possible but it is unlikely imo.

If Silva does indeed vacate the mw belt it would piss me off to no end. In my opinion if GSP moves to mw there is no way Silva could vacate and still call himself the best fighter in the world. This is all assumption of course, but even if he vacates without losing the title, the next champ, no matter who, will always be second best because they didn't have to beat Silva for it. This also brings me to his retirement and his ranking for all time. If he doesnt face Machida or GSP before that happens, he will never be the p4p best in my eyes!.....Rant over, feeling better.

this is an incredibly stupid move for Silva... What the hell is the point in Vacating his mw title if he is never going to go after the LHW title? All he will be is a spoiled in the 205 division. So a fighter fights Anderson and they lose how do they get a title shot as a LHW in the division he's just a road block and that shouldn't be allowed...

Dana said the winner at 100 would probably get a shot at MW title, now after he knocked the hell outta Bisping he should get another shot,I think he could beat him if he came in with the right game plan, I don't want to say Silva's ducking Hendo cause I think both fighters but man it sure seems like he's taking the ease way out and at the of his career why take the easy way out why not try and make the last 3 fights the most entertaining and competitive as you can.

it pisses me off.

Being a champion comes with responsabilities. of course Silva wants new challenges but he needs to defend his belt.

with GSP rumored to be adding some weight...

Hendo is also waiting for a shot and he's the most deserving.

what's the point moving up for a new challenge when he won't got all the way to a championship bout..?!?. ( the fight vs Machida will never happen. )

To be honest I think Soares' idea is good. (Call me crazy but) I would say Hendo and Marquardt are about equally as deserving for a title shot. The interim belt is a good idea because it saves Anderson a fight at MW and it'll really show who between the two really deserves that rematch. To be honest I don't think KOing Bisping should get a ****letot. Nor does TKOing Gouveia. But these two are the cream of the contender crop at 185 now and should really duke it out.

Yes, I am assuming Marquardt will win against Maia this Saturday.

instead of trying to put together this master plan of who his 3 fights should be spent on, why not sit him down and make him an offer he cant refuse for a new contract. you cant let silva slip between your fingers. especially not to the enemy (boxing).
