flipmodollas
Whats ya'lls opinion on Cain I mean he's a decent sized guy. He has good stand up and decent wrestling. Do you think Dana was justified in pulling him out of the fight with Carwin so he can fight Brock. Whos more deserving? I mean Cain didn't put away Congo but still. Whats ya'lls opinion ? judo_phantom
cain could be a force to be reckoned with in a few years, i don't think he's ready just yet though. check rocked him in every round on the feet, luckily for cain, kongo had no ground game to speak of, and could take advantage, and rest/GnP. If someone rocked him on his feet, but did have wrestling ability comperable or better than his (lesnar, carwin, etc.), then he'd be a in a heep of trouble. imagine brock or carwin landing a power punch, and when cain tries to take it to the ground, gets sprawled on, the fight goes back to the feet, and he gets owned, since he's still half dazed. my two cents. flipmodollas
I see your point I didn't actually see the fight with Check but Couldnt help but get the impression that it was less then impressive on his part thought that maybe it had a factor in Dana white pulling the fight with Carwin. but thanks man ya opinion does make since. BlueStandard
i think its done cain a favour. carwin would of ko'd him and a title shot would of been further away. cain is now free to travel down a less harsh path all the while getting better and more ready for a title shot in the long run. that said i think he's good, moves well, looks natural. i didnt like the way he kept walking into shots and gettin stunned by kongo tho... thats one thing to work on. ricoj3323
He's still young, alot of learning to do still. i dont thnk he was ready for a title shot yet, it showed agaisnt Kongo. I think the UFC was smart to pull Carwin out against Velaquez, why risk two talented prospects

Glenpo
Cain is not as ready as Carwin. It's really for the best that Cain gets more time before a title shot so he can improve his finishng skills. He really beat the krap outta Kongo and had no excuse for not finishing him. Cain will be a serious threat in the division for years to come.
Jiu_Jitsu_Johnny
Yeh, I think the delay will be a good thing in the long run for Cain. My only issue with Cain is his size - 6ft 1inch, 235lbs. Can't see a wrestler of Cain's size doing much against the likes of Carwin or Lesnar. Whats ya'lls opinion ? i think cain was kinda overrated going into the kongo fight. ya hes a good wrestler, but has sh*tty stand-up (i think Kkngo dropped him 3 times). carwin in my opinion would have KO him, cuz he has more power than Kongo, and actually has takedown defense. also, cain is rather flabby, while carwin is like a damn bodybuilder. maybe close in weight, but not strength, carwin is way stronger, almost as much as brock i think he needs some more fights against solid guys before he is put into title contention

His standup needs some work. But he's got the potential....good things will come from Cain for a while. It'll be good to see him and Rothwell. grapplingfireman
cain is already at top 5 heavy in my eyes. He did get rocked vs Kongo. Luckily Kongo can be taken down. He needs to work on striking defense. If he clinches with Lesnar or Carwin and pushes them into the cage. He can beat them He can put more preasure on them than they have ever felt. Cain's lungs are the best. He actually gets stonger as the fight goes on. If he makes it past round one with Lesnar or Carwin, I think he can win. I think any of the three fighting each other is dangerous for any of them. I think Big nog or Randy would have too much trouble with Cain.
Bigmacbub
Cain needs to bilk up. gain some muscle and strength then improve striking. Then he will be the sh it

joshdfs
people seem to forget that Kongo was a world champ K-1 kickboxer before the UFC so getting rocked by him isn't a big shame. And I can't recall Kongo being stopped in any of his fights so that is no big shame either. Cain is an up and coming fighter no doubt but definitely needs more experience against top of the food chain talent before he is ready for the big time. Carwin would have likely put him to sleep, and a promising carreer along with him.
