BrazilianFreak
I believe he's one of the best LW fighters of the world. Many people dislike his style, but I just can see him as a master of BJJ! This guy is so fast on the ground that everybody know how his game plan will be but, even so they get submitted by him. I would like to see a fight between him and BJ Penn, Takanori Gomi, Mike Brown, Gesias Cavalcante, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Urijah Faber, Eddie Alvarez and Miguel Torres. It's a shame that he have to fight guys like David Garner...

Mtx
Aoki is fun to watch but he's scared of getting hit. Wouldnt you be after those knees from Sakurai? Ha, you could hear them crushing his skull... He has great BJJ, no doubt about it, but he is kind of inconsistent....
joshness
I doubt it would ever happen. First off, the competition in lw in Dream is much stronger than in the UFC. mmaweekly has like 7 of the top 10 fighters being in Dream, Sherdog has 4 or 5 (I can't remember). Second, he's Japanese and will make a ton more money staying in Japan than coming over here to America. Don't just think pay out for fights, think endorsements and commercials. Also, the rules in UFC are quite different than in Dream. He would have to lose his magic pants and deal with rules that are a disadvantage to grapplers. (Unified Rules favor strikers and wrestlers) He's one of my favorite fighters and think it would be fun to see him fight BJ, but I wouldn't expect him to win against a motivated BJ. Now, if we got back the lazy no cardio BJ, then I could maybe see him pull off a win (If he got to keep his magic pants and fight in a ring.) It looks like he just got that pants from a clown or something... But I totally agree with you on this one... against a motivated BJ with that new conditioning program, I don't he would have a real chance. Now, if you let him wear his magic pants in the UFC, that would be VERY interesting.
armbarvictim
Aoki would get tooled by Penn. Yes he has a very good ground game, but there aren't too many people in the world with a better ground game than Penn and Aoki (although very talented) is not one of them. Not to mention if he did stand with BJ it would be over before it began. The striking isn't even in comparison, BJ's boxing is way better and he has much heavier hands. Aoki is one of the best LW's in the world but he wouldn't matchup with Penn.

He's one of the only guys I have seen in MMA work Eddie Bravo's rubber guard to full effect. BJ doesn't do it correctly ( he is flexible enough ) but he misses some of the positions if he did do it right his guard would be as good as his mount and back control ( which for the most part means when he gets to those positions he finishes everyone ). If BJ worked the rubber guard positions the way Eddie teaches it he'd trash even the great GSP as long as he didn't bring his vaseline. At the very least he'd create oppotunities to get back to his feet instead of staying there and taking a beating a letting GSP pass his guard. joshness
I agree with stompgrind. Shinya's guard is much more dangerous than BJ's. Shinya has some nice transitions as well and I can see him beating him in the ground game. The problem is that I can't see him taking BJ down nor can he stand up with BJ. We saw what Aoki's stand up looked like at the last Dream, it was pretty horrible. Now, if we saw an out of condition BJ and Shinya was able to survive the first round in a half, we'd have a much closer fight. I wonder how BJ would do with a 10 minute round and a 5 minute round. Still though, because Aoki is one of my favorite fighters. WAR MAGIC PANTS!
