Diego "YES!!" Sanchez

No doubt Diego is a fireball and totally exciting to watch. How do we all feel about his Tony Robbins YES chant as he makes his way to the octagon? is it Bad A** or is it just straight goofy?

Sounds like he will be taking on Penn for the title, the only question remaining seems to be where and when:

He can be as positive as he wants. Ain't gonna help him against Penn. But nonetheless a positive attitude is the first step to greatness.

Well said. I don't think Diego is as strange as people make him out to be. Yes he's a little weird but he's really into the whole mental cultivation, visualization etc. He seems pretty normal to me in interviews away from the octogon.

Diego "YES! Im gonna be the new champ"...when BJ retires:D

I just see it as goofy and dont see it as a positive attitude at all. Diego always had this kind of mojo. First he did his "ninja stuff" with all the crazy faces, he lost twice in a row, decided the ninja stuff wouldnt work anymore so he changed it for the YES! entrance.

I dont buy it and i dont like it. But thats just me and im a bit byased since I really dont like Diego.

I think Diego's Yes!!! is funny as hell. He really believes he's the engine that could. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can

His pre-fight staredown is pretty funny too.

When he fought Guida he looked like he had Royce+Wanderlei's stare down on crack.

I think he even told Guida your dead from across the cage then immediately did his calm yoga thing and then the prayer in the name of the father the son and the holy ghost with his hand.

Guida your dead...Praise the lord. LMAO

I would like to know why everyone hates on Rashad because he is "****y" but everyone loves Diego because he is "confident"?

I personally can't stand the little **** and can't wait for BJ to further prove that Diego is just a flash in the pan!

They're both ****y and annoying, the only reason more people like Diego over Rashad is his style. He goes balls to the wall and keeps up a fast pace, whereas Rashad, dances around like a fairy till he eats a straight left!

but look at their records, Rashad stayed undefeated alot longer than Diego and against much better competition. Not that I love Rashad or anything, just curious.

LOL.....dances around like a fairy, that was a good one. Def got a chuckle out of me!!

I think some of it also has to do with how Rashad dances around like a geniune Jack A** when he wins his matches compared to most others that simply celebrate with genuine joy!

Diego Sanchez sounds very Spanish. I don't know if he speaks any Spanish, but I'd love to see him come out to the ring, yelling

"S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!" "S?!"

IMO, it would be WAY more epic than simply saying "Yes!" "Yes!" "Yes!"

The power of positive thinking won't be enough to handle BJ Penn though. BJ is going to slap him around like an ugly kid from Hilo, who stole his bike.

Sanchez strikes me as one of these guys who is obsessed with finding a 'spiritual' side to being a warrior. Not cropping on the guy for wanting to better himself, but it sometimes comes off as over the top, or even phony. Either way, he's a badass and deserves his shot.

No' date=' no news yet, Dana apparently had a meeting yesterday.

UFC president Dana White said a third event was in the works for November, featuring a headlining bout between B.J. Penn and Diego Sanchez. The event’s broadcast platform was neither a pay-per-view nor a Spike TV event.

“Wait and see boys... if I can pull this one off,” White told reporters.

At the post-fight press conference for UFC 102 in Portland, Ore., White told MMAWeekly.com that he was flying to L.A. on Monday for another meeting with an undisclosed network.

When asked if he was finalizing a deal, White said, “I hope so... I really hope so.”
