GSPisLEGEND
Anthony "rumble" Johnson is not known by alot but i was watching his fights and i really like him and his style. He is a very humble person and he doesnt like to brag alot or talk alot of stuff. What are ya thoughts on him fighting GSP? i think he would do fine. i like his stand up fighting. he has good striking game and he is HUGE for a WW. i love gsp but IDK maybe anthony would give him a lil run for his money. still i think gsp wins 3nd rnd tko or mabe go to desicion..unanimous. Thoughts?
Alpha_Omega
I don't think he's ready yet. Very talented guy, but not ready. And yes, it'd go to decision. Like most of GSP's fights. lol.

mmakillsallothersports
he will be great in the future but at this point in time not ready for gsp at all would get finished or just man-handled the whole time. at some point a huge challenge but would probably smash hughes i think
fredshaulage
I dont think you'll see Johnson at welterweight for too long. He is young at the moment, but @ 6'2" it will be increasingly harder for him to make weight. I see him at middleweight within 2 years.

armbarvictim
i think rumble should fight hughes next' date=' it will give him a real guage of where he is at plus put a big name fight on his resume,.[/quote'] Good idea but what would be in that for Hughes? Don't get me wrong it would be a great fight and I'll get back to Johnson in a second, but where would that get an almost out the door Hughes? At this point in his career it would be ridiculous to just use him as a gatekeeper for the prospects. I say give him a fight he wants since he's got less than a handful left! He said he wants another shot at Alves and GSP. So give him Thiago and if he wins that then throw him at GSP one last time for his last fight....why not? Hell of a way to go out wouldn't you think? or something along those lines.... As for Johnson, well, you can't really call him a prospect anymore....he's had quite a few fights in the UFC and alot of them ended with a KO. I think this guy is already deserving of a step up in competition. I would have liked to see him in there with Swick over Kampmann. Never the less there are a few welterweights you could throw at him in the meantime...Parisyan, Fitch, Serra, or even Saunders, Hardy, Paul Taylor..... Either way I wanna see more of this kid cuz he's got an awesome wrestling background and KO power. Gonna go far...

Yeah I understand that. I went a little far but I do find him very boring. Ever since he got KOed he's been very tentative.

towhatend
anthony johnson has 1 fatal flaw. his weak point is a good eye gouge. AHHHH he poked me in my eye! That was painful to watch. But yeah Johnson is a beast. The Hughes fight would be interesting but I would really like to see Fitch and Hughes fight sometime. Johnson vs Kampmann would be a good scrap as well. Jade7
I think Johnson may well get a title shot next year. I don't think he's ready yet to face GSP, but he's one of the brighter prospects at 170. I'd like to see Johnson fight Koschek to see how he'd do against someone with a good wrestling base. The loser of Swick vs. Kampmann would also be a good opponent for him. And I'd love to see a Johnson vs. Dan Hardy fight as well.
MyTH_MMA
I'm just dissapointed that Johnson is fighting Yoshida. That kind of seems like a match where they really don't have to fight, just give Johnson the W, and keep Yoshida's head on his shoulders. But seriously, Johnson will be up there in contention by next year or so.
