Potential fights for Thiago Silva

I think a fight with Brandon Vera would be great' date=' everyone's other suggestions suck. i would love to see him fight Luiz Cane too, dont they dislike each other too?[/quote']

Yeah, I was just thinking of potential fights that would be entertaining and would elevate his status even more. I guess he could run through Vera in a round but that seems like taking a step backwards for Silva.

he needs another step up in competition. i like him, but i think he's a little scrappy and wild at times. i like to see him knock guys out, but against a well disciplined top TOP flight guy i think he'll get picked off again. but thats not to say he cant tighten things up and keep getting better.

i think he would beat forrest. vera would be a good test, as mentioned above

Whoever said Thiago is wild scrapper is out of their mind. You cant put much on that Machida fight, he does that to everyone apparently, lol.

In that last fight he looked amazing, He took a little bit of time to get his bearing, got caught with a leg kick, then when the next body kick was thrown he used an awsome Muay Thai technique and slid his left kick under Keiths body kick simotaniously catching the kick and taking Keith to the ground. He waited and timed him coming in with that left hook, finished the fight.

Maybe if Joe and Mike were doing their job and commenting on the fight, instead of yapping about how effective Jardines jerky chimp stance was FOR THE WHOLE FIGHT, they would have actually noticed something.

Hes gotten alot better and the UFC should throw up some top competition again next.

He matches up well with anyone except A Silva and Machida really, so I don't see him possibly losing to anyone other than those two, because of his aggressiveness and their ability to counter. But he has a very good team, and I think next time he faces a good counterstriker his game plan will be far better than what he had shown against Machida. Quick run back to a title fight for him I believe, probably after two fights at the most.

Watching him and Rampage slug it out would be fun, but the Rampage/Rashad winner prob gets the title fight, so I don't see the timing working out with either of them. If Rua loses its a step backwards. He needs to fight some else who's climbing the ladder, like maybe a Vera (who he'll destroy) or the winner of the Belfort/Franklin matchup? Either way I think its a quick run back to a title fight if he keeps his head together, which doesn't seem to be any issue at all. A fight with A Silva would be a good fight, but I think the risk FAR outweighs the reward from Thiago's standpoint.

I'd like to see Thiago Silva fight the loser of Rampage vs. Evans, Cane, Franklin, or Vera. Probably one of the last three because the Rampage vs. Evans fight won't be until the end of the year and Thiago shouldn't have to wait that long between fights.

The problem is the LHW division is so weak and there aren't many good match ups for Thiago. Tito and Vera wouldn't make it past the first round. Franklin or Wandy would at least

keep things entertaining for a round or two.

LHW division 'so weak' ??

Evans, Rampage, Vitor, Rua, Vera, Franklin, Jones to name 7 good matchups for him off the top of my head.

LHW is so stacked you can just about throw any of the top 10 in against any of the others and get a great fight (although to be fair if any of them apart from maybe a top condition Rua or Rampage are thrown in against Machida it's only going to be a great fight from one side).
