Rashad Evans vs Thiago Silva.. why not ????

Hello friends, after the cancelled fight by the Rampage?s movie, a lot of people are searching a good replacemente for this fight.

It would be the best chance that i see, this two fighters loss with machida. Rashad came from a loss with the dragon, and Thiago came from the first win after loss with machida. And both fighters want to fight with machida again.

What are you thinking about it ??? is a good idea ??? any opinion ???? any change ????

Thanks and excuse my english !.

good point to that would be a good fight but i think its not the best fight that thiago could have i would like to see a thiago vs forest griffin that would be a gr8 fight rashad should hold out for rampage

that makes sense too... i dunno but i dont think rashad should wait till rampage is ready though he should get another win under his belt b4 rampage is ready

who is he goin to goin to get that win tho because if he was to fight thiago i dont think rashad will win that fight and that will put him back down the ranks for a title but at the same time would put thiago closer to a title shot i think if that was to happen we could have thiago fight the winner of machida and shogun

Not a horrible idea and I was talking with friends the other day saying that I wish that Shad would ge tin there with someone before Feb when he is thinking the fight with Rampage will take place. But unless Rampage keeps pushing the fihgt off or cancels it completely...at this point they are fighting and Rashad is wating for that fight to take place...like I said he thinks it will be Feb 6th

dont think thiago is ready for a title shot... maybe if he rights the loser then if its shogun thats would be a good fight... if its machida (DOUBT IT) a rematch and a good comeback fight... ???????

good point, but a fight with Rashad would answer the question of whether or not he's ready to step up for a title shot. thiago's a tough, mean fighter, and although Rashad is overrated, a win over him would give Thiago much more credibility and would definitely move him within a fight of a title shot. I like the idea...

Awsome idea brotha!

Though after I read the news, I thought "Well, there's Couture's first fight at LHW." Any of these combonations is great:

Randy v Evans

Randy v Silva (T.)

Silva v Evans

I would pay a lot of money to see any of these fights. Evans v Randy makes more sense as they are both comin off a loss. Thiago will more than likely face the loser of Machida v Rua. This is a great solution in my eyes.

oh yer me too thats the fight i wanna c now but the other dude did raise the point that the ufc doesnt wanna risk a former ufc champ drop down the rankings too quickly and after getting MASSIVLY KTFO it will be interesting to c if he is the same fighter

I think that Silva/Rashad is not a bad idea at all....

Rashad IMO has built his career on some victories over mediocre opponents in Bisping/Lidell

and a very inconsistent opponent in Forrest, none of who I would consider to be top-5 fighters, I really don't think Rashad has earned his place as a top five.

Silva would be a good test for Rashad, and I would definately tune in for that fight.

It's nice to see a post that isn't Kimbo/Lesnar, Machida/Silva, GSP/Silva, Brock/Fedor - 10/10 for being original!

I agree. That would definitely be a fight worth watching, but only if it happened before the Rampage fight, with the winner facing Page and the loser facing Griffin.

I think Randy v A.Silva at 205 is the fight to see, since neither is legitimately in line for a 205 title shot, and a win here would immediately boost their ranking in the division

Because Thiago probably wants some rest time

How many time needs Thiago for rest after beat Jardine with no effort ?, we are talking about a fight in the 107 ( 12th december ) ... is a long time ! ( near 3 months to rest and prepare the fight... :( )

On the other hand i found it :

Lightweight Championship bout: B.J. Penn vs. Diego Sanchez

Lightweight bout: Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida

Welterweight bout: Thiago Alves vs. Paulo Thiago

Heavyweight bout: Frank Mir vs. Cheick Kongo

Heavyweight bout: Todd Duffee vs. TBA

Good matchup, bad timing. If Rashad were to fight, and if he got KO'd, we'd have to wait an extra 3-4 months before we could see him fight Rampage. UFC isn't gonna take that risk. Let him sit on his thumbs and wait for his fight.

As for Thiago, throw Vera at him. After the fight with Kryzstoff he had to have improved his standings a little. Let him fight Thago. Then matchup the losers of Rashad/Rampage and Machida/Rua. The winner of that fight will fight the winner of Thago/Vera which would determine the next #1 contender meanwhile the winner of Rampage and Rashad would be getting a title shot.

That makes sense right? I don't even know anymore....

Off the top of my head thats what came to mind.

I dont think Vera deserves this fight' date=' but I would be OK with it for I think he would gets his **** kicked.[/quote']

You could easily argue that Vera needs one more fight to crack the top five but to be honest, he was just the first guy that popped into my head. He's riding a win streak, and a win over Kryzstoff is no joke. Either way there are a few guys you could put in there but that was just the basic idea.

I'd like to see this fight.

With the hype being that both these guy s only loss was from the same individual.

As far as waiting for Rampage goes, with everything the UFC put into promoting him I wish they would/ could fire his @ss then we wouldnt have to worry about him pulling this sh*t again.

And I wouldn't feel bad because he has his "movie career" to fall back on.

But this maybe a case of cutting your nose to spite your face.
