machida1
Read an interesting article on the 5 oz. of pain web site about GSP wanting to train with Machida because of their Karate back grounds. That's a scary thought. Teach each other their very different styles of Karate and wrestling. They'd both be much better fighters. Most people, unless you live under a rock, know GSP has world class wrestling. Most people don't know that Machida is not only a 2 time South American jiu-jitsu champion, but also a 2 time Pan American Sumo champion. They could take each other to another level if that's possible!

fighterangel92
GSP is already explosive... what now he wants to ignite the whole world?? Well, the whole world of MMA anyways
Exodus9mm
Who wouldn't want to train with Machida? Kudos to GSP if he can take his striking to Machida's level, because that would be just plain insane. GSP is already so well rounded that he'll dominate at WWs. If he notched his striking up to that caliber, he'd be unstoppable. A sick prospect here.
gtp
GSP is good enough without Machida's training... NOW HE WILL BE THE ABSOLUTE BEST EVER!!! I really like the fact that he knows he can improve his game, and wants to train with the best out there. Good ****e GSP!!!
joshiec1203
GSP unstoppable? What about Machida? Already the best counterstriker in MMA, very good BJJ that he hasn't needed to utilize so far, and then he could have some of GSP's takedowns? That would be sick. I would pity anyone within 30 or 40 lbs who got in the cage with him. P.S.- I can't wait to see Machida get his chin tested though. I'd love to see him take one flush to the face and see how he reacts. Not because I don't like him, but if you don't have a chin you don't stay on top long regardless of your skill... ask Arlovsky

I'd like to see he and Machida both take a solid standup punch, just for my own needs, lol. Although, seeing as the point of the sport is not to get hit, this only solidifies them at respective #1 fighters.
machida1
Machida hasn,t taken a truly flush power shot since he fought BJ Penn @ 185 lbs. in I think it was Cage Rage. But that's the point of his Karate. If a Samuri gets hit and his lucky he'll only lose a limb. If not so lucky, he was dead. Machida Karate teaches you to not get hit. I just can't stand behind a fighter's greatness 100% if I dno't know he can get totally pegged in the head and get back up. Just my opinion. I know others think being evasive is more impressive, and it is definitely smarter and more productive, I just want to have the comfort of knowing that someone I say is one of the p4p greats won't get embarrased once he gets hit. As a fan, I'd love to see it though. That aside, both Machida and GSP would gain serious skills by training each other, and would make them that much harder to beat. machida1
I think Rua is gonna test his chin @ 104. IT WILL PROBABLY JUST PISS HIM OFF! Sparring with the Spider all the time I'm sure they've accidentally caught each other more than a few times. As Machida's biggest fan I think Rua is the only one right now with a snowball's chance in hell of beating him. And please don't start with Rampage. He wouldn't last 3 minutes with Machida. And I like Rampage but he is way too slow and one dimensional.
Jamhet
Machida hasn' date='t taken a truly flush power shot since he fought BJ Penn @ 185 lbs.[/quote']It wasn't a 185 fight. Machida weighed in at 228 pounds, and Benn weighed in at 189 pounds. BJ fought at a very late notice. GSP and Machida should fight against each another. Machida is 6'0"1/2 - so he's smaller and has smaller reach than Anderson Silva. And he's not anywhere near the end of his career. So Machida and GSP have to meet one day!!! In the cage!!! machida1
GSP vs. Machida. Wow! The best take down artist vs. the best take down blocker. Very different Karate and Wrestling back grounds. But that's alot of weight. Machida walks around @ 230-235. That's Fedor's size. That and GSP is my 2nd favorite fighter so I don't want to see either lose.

Alpha_Omega
Same goes for Anderson Silva. Although, seeing as the point of the sport is not to get hit, this only solidifies them at respective #1 fighters.[/quote'] Anderson has had his chin tested imo. Hendo landed a huge uppercut, Franklin landed some shots right on the chin and temple and if you really want to see Anderson's chin tested, watch the 2nd round of his fight with Jorge Rivera. He let Rivera hit him 7 unanswered hooks right to the chin and just looked at him before he proceeded to tear him apart. Anderson gets energized when he gets hit. Just because he dodges punches so well doesn't mean he can't take them. Wouldn't be surprised if Machida could take a punch, too, being with the great black house camp. joshdfs
Everyone says they just can't call Machida the best since he's never been chin checked, how does that make sense? That very thing is what makes him one of the best- he just doesn't get hit! plus look at a closeup of his face and research some of his (totally badass) father's old school training techniques. I can imagine he has taken hundreds of shots to the face from his dad and brothers in training. Which is why he knows he doesn't want to get hit! Now, can you imagine a fight camp like that.. Gsp @ WW A. Silva @ MW Machida @ LHW and Minotauro @ HW WOW>>> that's all I can say about that... WOW!!!
Alpha_Omega
Black House s already one of the best camps. But GSP wont stay at black house I'm sure.

He actually likes to get hit so he can get pump .... Anyone remembers anderson silva and bader sparring at tuf... Bader was going hard on silva .... silva was letting hit him in the fight with some vicious punches ....getting hit only makes anderson silva get pump for the fight.. I m sure machida has a good chin , if he trains with silva he must have a good chin..
